Worrying Times at Old Trafford

Image
Today is Saturday 23 January 2016 and for the fans who missed the early game between Manchester United against Southampton, I am sad to report that the final results of the game read Manchester United 0 – 1 Southampton. The game which, I want to strongly emphasize, was played at Old Trafford started off with Southampton dominating vast majority of the game and the Red Devils played like a team who did not put in anytime at all in the training ground before the game. I mean, I am honestly trying not to be too critical of the team but, it seemed like the strategy the team had coming into the game was to deliver long balls into the opponents penalty box and hope that a player like Marouane Fellaine would be able to do something with the ball but the strategy backfired because all the long passes that came from a Manchester United player either went out of play or the ball was delivered straight into the hands of the Southampton Goal keeper, Fraser Foster or the ball would find its wa

Under Appreciation Leads to Loss of Quality

Another example of unappreciated players from the club is Nani who was sold from Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon.  Two or three seasons ago, Luis Carlos Almeida da Cunha,(Nani), with a record of 25 goal in 147 appearances for Manchester United, was a winger who struck terror in the eyes of the opposing fans of any club Manchester United faced because of his ability to create goals for himself and his fellow teammates.  So, with a record like that, I have to ask, why sell him? What was the rational behind selling him and loaning adnan Januzaj? Two fast wingers whose ability on the ball showed a positive future for Manchester United.  If we sold Di maria, sold Nani and loaned Januzaj all within the space of a month and the club delivers the news a few months later that the club is lacking players and pace in key areas of the pitch then little doubt might start to crawl into the minds of the fans as to how ready and able will the team be to contest for the Premiership title, th

Transition Time - Thanks for the memories Darren Fletcher

This season has been a season of major changes made in Manchester United with important players coming in to the club and also some key players who left the club recently but where a part of the reason why Manchester united was so successful in the past.                                                               Darren Fletcher is one player that should definitely on that list.  With a total of 342 appearances for Manchester united and a total of 24 goals, it is safe to say that Fletcher was a dynamo in the midfield . He had the vision to see were the passes were going, how to tackle an opponent and dispossess the ball from the opponent as quickly as possible and adding his excellent long range shooting ability, it’s clear to see why Fletcher helped United secure a total of                                                                              Premier League   (4):   2006–07 , [76]   2007–08 , [76]   2008–09 , [76]   2010–11 , [76] ·   FA Cup   (1):   2003–04 [2
