There is no one, or better yet, there is no player bigger than Manchester United football club as a whole.  What the statement is in essence implying is despite the number of goals, assists , tackles of saves any Manchester United player makes, a player is still a player and the demands of Manchester United football club as a whole must always be put ahead of the demands of any single player.
