MANCHESTER UNITED TO ENCOURAGE MODERATE TEAM IMPROVEMENT DURING THE SUMMER
Three losses and one draw in quick succession has compounded the clubs current poor form of 7 losses out of 10 games in all competitions.
As the case would require in any top-rated football club such as Manchester United, the response to the club's recent abysmal record has been completely negative. Throughout multiple outlets such as various social medias, “The Red Devils”. as Manchester United fans like to be recognized as, continue to voice out their numerous opinions in regards to various routes the club should explore as a remedy to eradicate Manchester United's recent accumulation of poor results. While some of the actions and recommendations suggested by some Manchester United fans to be taken by Manchester United football club should be considered extreme and unnecessary, there are a number of good suggestions thrown in the list which could come in handy to Manchester United during the 2019 summer transfer window and prior to next seasons kick off of the 2019/2020 season.
Some talks have continued to spread about different avenues Manchester United can approach for the rest of the season, making our way through the Summer transfer window and into the course of next season. One is to decide to let go of one of the club's heavy weights in the Paul Pogba to make room for fresh blood in the midfield next season. The second option was to let go of a substantial number of current players in the Manchester United squad and implement a complete rebuild of the squad yet again during the 2019 summer transfer window. While the idea of Manchester United coming out next season with a completely different roster possibly stronger and potentially more effective than the current Manchester United team, any potential rebuild to take place in the near future might not yield a strong return if one of the main foundations supporting the clubs structure is not a player whom possesses such world class quality, such deep history and such deep understanding of what the club demands each season.
Truth is that Paul Pogba fits the system of Manchester United and one might argue that at the moment Paul Pogba, David De Gea and possibly Anthony Martial are the possible trios keeping Manchester United in contention for a place in the top 4 of the Premier League table. The smarter strategy for Manchester United to take this summer will be to keep the trio of Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and David De Gea, let go of any other number of current players and acquire at least three quality proven midfielders and one quality proven defender to strengthen Manchester United further to eventual caliber of champions. Keep Manchester United's foundational players, let go of the rest if Manchester United chooses to, but assemble high quality players around the clubs three foundational players prior to next season.
During a recent press conference held on Friday april 26 2019, Manchester United current Manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer was asked how Manchester United was asked how Manchester United went from winning 14 games out 17 games to lossing 7 out of 9 gamess to which Ole Gunner Solskjaer replied “That is football for you. That’s human beings for you. That’s margins. We’ve had and of cause we’ve played, you can say, we’ve played, many said, easy teams in the beginning and a bit more difficult teams now but, of cause it’s been, I think it’s the whole scenario and I think it’s the whole season that its been an emotional for the player and the club of cause we have had highs and lows and that’s just what you have to deal with as a football player and a coach, a manager, we do deal with human beings.”
While Ole Gunner Solskjaers’ comments might make sense to a number of rational sports journalists, might also make sense to some football analysts and the comments might even make sense to the Manchester United board of directors whom have been known to take a more passive approach to a lot of the negetive results that comes Manchester Uniteds way, some Manchester United fans have chossen not be necessarily linient to the recent losses the club has had. The Manchester United fans have taken a couple of opportunities to voice their oppinions about the recent results and the more recent club development which has suffaced in past two weeks or so. It's interesting listening to fans and analyst gives their comments about Manchester United at the moment because while some people tend to give unnecessary comments built out of pent up emotions, some analysis have been rather spot on and raises a few good questions in terms of where Manchester United's future is headed? After the 2-0 loss at the hands of fierce Derby rivals Manchester City was followed by a 1-1 draw to Chelsea, the bar of expectation set for the Manchester United team might appear to be a little inferior to what’s to be expected from a team of Manchester United team but heart, effort and quality seems to be bar set for the current squad of Manchester United players.
Manchester United are nowhere near the level of a top team and yet another summer of restructuring through the aid of the Transfer Window at the end of the season but in the meantime, commitment, every drop of quality in the squad and a little luck are the three key things Manchester United must possess to secure a place in the one of the top 4 spots still up for contention for Manchester United with two games in Manchester United's Premier League schedule this season.
