MANCHESTER UNITED MUST PUT UP BETTER PERFORMANCES TO MATCH THE VICTORIES IF THE CLUB IS TO BREAK THE TOP FOUR JINX THIS SEASON
The result of last weekends big match against current Premier League leaders Liverpool have been registered and while the result might still remain fresh in the minds of the Manchester United manager, the Manchester United players and of course the Manchester United supporters, the Premier League matches scheduled for Ole Gunner Solskjaers team continues to roll on which leaves little time to reminisce on recent match result.
While Ole Gunner Solskjaer has had his say on the way last weekends minor derby turned out and a number of sports annalists have broken down the action that took place at Old Trafford last weekend, the main point of discussion will be how Manchester United can use last weekends result to motivate the team to deliver top performances for the remainder of the current season.
The news around Manchester United at the moment, unfortunately, does not reflect the recent positive mood current Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer continuously attempts to paint around the club. In Solskjaers defence one of the duties of any manager in charge of any club struggling to achieve any level of success just as Manchester United is currently doing will not be expected to openly admit that the club is simply in a very difficult situation and showing no signs of finding any means of escaping the downward spiral in the next week or two. The club is undoubtedly in a mess at the moment and admitting the reality will not paint Manchester United weak by any means but rather allow the club owners, managers, and players to wake up to their new reality and start solving the crises before the situation gets to a point of no return.
The first step must be the obvious one to start winning more games in the remaining months of the season. While this point might come off as a bit redundant to the Manchester United players and supporters the act of winning games frequently is non the less one that Solskjears team is yet to adopt even in the best possible situations this season. Recapping the number of points Manchester United has dropped so far this season the astonishing part will not be the number of points dropped but rather the opponents the Red Devils have conceded these points against.
With the exception of last weekends results against Jorgen Klopp's side is the only Legitimate excuse for a very tough opponent worthy of taking points off Manchester United's hands, Solskjear will most likely find the idea of dropping points to the level of beatable teams the Red Devils have faced prior to last Sunday weekend highly unacceptable. While manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has outrightly accepted the blame for his teams abysmal performance in the first nine games of the season, the subtle message coming through from the owners, managers and players at Old Trafford appears to be that “There’s no need for early panic.” while Manchester United's current position at the bottom half of the Premier League table remains undesirable, Solskjaer and the chief executive at Manchester United appear to have full confidence that Manchester United can make their way up to one of the top four places in the Premier League table.
While the confidence which has been given to Ole Gunner Solskjaer from the Chief Executives and subsequently the confidence on given to the players by the manager remains admirable, the reaction coming from the Manchester United fans in response to what the fans have seen from their Manchester United team remains far from positive at this stage of the current season. The reaction from the Manchester United fans in response to the season their club is having so far appears to be split in between two parts with one side believing that Ole Gunner Solskjaer can still turn things around for Manchester United with a little more patience and the other half upholding the strong believe that Solskjaer might not be the right man to bring success back to Manchester United.
The frustration displayed by Manchester United fans as the 2019 calendar year gradually comes to an end can justifiably be concluded to be a response to not just the recent poor result the Manchester United team have recorded this season but the frustration can be linked back to the disappointing the fans feel of watching their Manchester United struggle to put on a string of good performance on the field for a long period of time. Manchester United is undoubtedly one of the biggest clubs in the world and history has proven the club can achieve great things with the right team. However, the modern-day Manchester United team continue to lack enough players with the right level of needed to succeed in modern football but the fault is not mainly of Ole Gunner Solskjaer but of the board of directors who have yet to support and commit to rebuilding the team into a solid team strong enough to compete and succeed in a variety of competitions.
While the Board of directors has not necessarily set up Ole Gunner Solskjaer to succeed as the Manchester United manager especially with the current group of players, there is a debate ongoing within the Manchester United fan base and a couple of Analysts with one side still claiming that Solskjaer has enough quality in his squad to do better than the current position of sitting below the top 5 in the Premier League table. With October at its end, Manchester United has roughly two months to make its way up the ladder in the Premier League table and it will be interesting to see if this group of Manchester United players can step up to the challenge before the 2020 January transfer window.
