MANCHESTER UNITED TODAY: MAJOR MOVES WHICH IS EXPECTED TO FORCE THE MANCHESTER UNITED HIERARCHY TO STRENGTHEN A LITTLE MORE IN THE SUMMER

What will be the financial downturn the Glazer family will have to go through as club owners at Manchester United for the club owners to wake up to the struggles currently experienced by the Manchester United team?

10 million in net loss? 20 million in loss? How about 50 million in net loss?

This article could go on for pages and pages attempting to throw out major numbers in the form of some level of major loss which might impact Manchester United's profit margin but the fact of the matter is that no matter how big of a loss the club experiences in the stock market, the loss, unfortunately, might never be massive enough to diminish the annual profit margin the club generates steadily and constantly.

There are a couple of reasons why Manchester United is known as the biggest club in the world. While the trophy record the Red Devils have secured in the past and the club enormous worldwide fan base most certainly have played major factors in the club continuous popularity, there can be little argument to debate the case that Manchester United's growth in popularity is somewhat rooted to the high level of financial success Manchester United have generated over the past decades.

While there has been a lot of talks or a lot of accusations been thrown in the direction of the Glazer family labeling the popular English club owners as greedy aristocrats who do not reinvest enough of the annual profits generated by Manchester United back into improving Manchester United's success on the field as well as improving Manchester United ability to be seriously active in the transfer window, the big question is: has Manchester United's net profit and net spend really generate enough extra profit in the past year to allow the Red Devils to spend a little more during the upcoming 2020 summer transfer window?

The answer, yes and from the findings on the research done by the ManchesterUnitedPost the club’s current financial situation appears to suggest that Manchester United fans have every right to be expecting more world-class signings made by the Red Devils in the summer of 2020. As of 2019, Manchester United generated a total of 795 million in profits and just as quickly the club spent a total of 238 million in net spending leaving Manchester United with 557 million still available to be invested towards the transfer. With such a mouth-watering revenue still left unspent as the 2020 January transfer window, anyone can understand why Manchester United fans were left fuming in the mouth in response to the news that before completing the signing of Bruno Fernandes Manchester United initially refused to pay the 68 million fee demanded by Sporting Lisbon for the highly-rated midfielder.

After careful observation of Manchester United's 2019 revenue, anyone will probably understand why the fans before the acquisition of Bruno Fernandes appeared to be disappointed at the outcome of the 2020 January transfer window. As per the rating of the current wealthiest clubs in 2019, Manchester United rank at number 3 in Forbes list of the world's richest club valued at 3.8 billion. With so much financial accolades and yet little investment devoted to improving the Manchester United team during each January and summer transfer window, the current response of frustration and rebellion witnessed rather frequently from the Manchester United fans which appear to be channeled towards Manchester United's hierarchy for insufficient investment towards each transfer window can be very understandable.

But there are other avenues Manchester United fans might still exploit to get the appropriate reaction from the club hierarchy. While talks of a possible walkout protest organized by Manchester United fans scheduled to happen at Old Trafford sometime in February 2020 continue to build into what is expected to be a major boycott expressed through an empty Old Trafford stadium shortly.

The reality is there is no guarantee that an organized walkout engineered to take place at Old Trafford will necessarily motivate the Manchester United hierarchy into investing exponentially to sign top quality players during the Summer 2020 transfer. There is little secret to no secret in the notion that Manchester United is controlled by businessmen leading to the club constantly run as a business concerned with making a profit off the field over earning success on the field.

Increasing the club's financial profits instead of improving Manchester United's performance and success on the field is still rumored to be Manchester United's main point of concern. Like most business owners, the main goal comes down to making profits. Through some minor research done recently, Manchester United's major source of income appears to stem from two major sources Advertising plus sponsorship deals and ticket sales. While the fans have no control over advertising and sponsorship deals, the one area where the power returns to the fan base is profits generated through ticket sales.

While Manchester United fans have the right idea in terms of staging a possible walkout from the stands in the future, there are stronger avenues Manchester United fans might still explore in the future in terms of gaining some level of power over club owners The Glazers soon and the demonstration and signs held by the Manchester United fans demanding The Glazers return Manchester United to the glory days during Manchester United's FA Cup victory against Tranmere is expected to be the first step in what might be several reactions from the Manchester United fans direct at the Glazers

Despite the recent reactions seen from the fans, the picture remains unclear as to how these reactions will bring about change from a Manchester United hierarchy who have been known to be primarily focused on the financial aspect of Manchester United. The goal of hurting Manchester United hierarchy becomes even more difficult when you consider the point the mere decision from Manchester United supporters to purchase a single ticket to watch from the stands on match days has left Manchester United fans already surrendering power to Ed Woodward and the Glazers.

Manchester United fans are of the right mindset but until the fans realize that the only route to force change from the Manchester United board of directors is by limiting the clubs financial growth through putting a halt on purchasing match day tickets and putting a stop to purchasing Manchester United merchandise such as Jerseys, Scaffs, etc, the current status quo at Manchester United is scheduled to remain the same.
