MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYER MAKE A STATEMENT THAT HAS BEEN LONG OVERDUE

Some football critics can criticize and judge players with some of the harshest ways possible as we have seen throughout the years.

History has proven that when football critiques are given the green light to analyze players, there’s been recent evidence received from a few criticisms of certain players that tends to provoke questions as to just how rationale and unbiased are some of these analyses received from these modern-day sports analyst and sports journalist

Judging from some articles read in modern-day sports newspapers and some of the modern-day football talk show on television, what qualifies a person as a good sports analyst or a good sports writer appears to have drifted away from focusing on what was right and wrong in a players performance on the field and giving thoughts on a players future through facts and evidence rather focused on giving opinions on every wrong perception of any one player. While there is no doubt that a high number of players across Europe receive their fair share of criticism, there can be little argument to be made that a high portion of players who have and continue to receive such high criticism appear to be Manchester United players.

By now, Manchester United players are aware that receiving continuous criticism is what some refer to an occupational hazard. Receiving criticizing might be classified as a purely occupational hazard that happens on a regular base for Manchester United players. But what if roles were reversed? What if Manchester United players were the once throwing the criticism at the television and newspaper critiques? How will the sports media respond to the situation?  we won’t have to wait any longer to find out.

In a recent interview with one of Manchester United's most talked about player Paul Pogba, the French midfielder delivered a statement that while a significant amount of current football pundits have received negatively, a handful of articles such as today's article provided here at the ManchesterUnitedChannel website have decided to address the comment from a different perspective. During a recent sit-down discussion, French midfielder Paul Pogba was asked about his thoughts concerning the unflattering remarks Pogba has received from current SkySports pundit Graham Sourness to which Pogba replied by saying that he did not even know who Graham Sourness was.

While a few people might choose to view the comment in a negative fashion other footballers might choose a different direction and ask the question of what was so wrong about Paul Pogba's statement?

Looking at the statement from the perspective of a simple question answered during dialogue, the French midfielder was asked the question if he was aware of the sky sports commentator Graham Sourness football history to which Paul Pogba responded with what appears to be a simple answer but the SkyFootball team of pundits did not receive well:

“I didn’t even know who he was, really,” Pogba told the United podcast. “I heard he was a great player and stuff like that. I know the face but [not] the name.
“Like I said I’m not someone that watches a lot of [punditry], I watch a lot of football but I don’t stay after the game to listen to what they say about why they did this, or why they did that. I like to focus on football.”

While the media have recently made a meal of the situation insinuating that the Manchester United midfielder was out of line with the comment, the ManchesterUnitedPost has chosen to view the website from a different perspective.

In a nutshell, Paul Pogba is right in his statement. Over the past three years, Manchester United players have been the center of criticism from the mouths of critics such as Graham Sourness and while players such as Paul Pogba are well aware that receiving “constructive criticism” is part and parcel of playing for a top-class football club such as Manchester United, the question to be addressed then is what is constructive criticism and are modern-day players actually receiving constructive criticism?

While a lot of sports journalists or sports analysts today have done a good job in destroying the true essence of journalism meaning Journalists should not conclude but rather ask questions and wait for answers to be provided. In the case of football analysts such as Graham Sourness against football players such as Paul Pogba, evidence that can be derived through recent history suggests players such as Paul Pogba who has received constant unjustified criticism in most cases have every right to take a swipe back at some unnecessary criticism labeled against some of these modern-day players.

The fact is the media is currently making quite simply put “a mountain out of a molehill” about the situation. However, when the situation involves Paul Pogba that generally tends to be the case. As of this moment and possibly moving further down into the future, what might result from the situation is simply chatter from the English press, and eventually, the chatter will die down, presumably when the season restarts. Skysports correspondents such as Gary Nevil, Jaime Carragher, and Graham Sourness might view Paul Pogba’s recent comment as somewhat abrupt however some readers within the football community might view Paul Pogba`s comments as fitting and frankly overdue considering the constant propaganda by the English media which the french midfielder has faced over the past three years.

Neither party is expected to escalate the situation any further with Paul Pogba currently fully focused on returning to the Manchester United starting XI once the season returns. However, given the history between Manchester United football club and the sports media, there is sure to be a high expectation of yet a few more Manchester United players making the headlines soon.
