The recent situation experienced in Manchester United by young prospect Angel Gomes has really opened people's eyes to a current situation at Old Trafford which few sports news outlets appear to be talking about at the moment.

The mainstream news that travels not just in and around the United Kingdom but the mainstream news that travels on a global scale continue to receive constant promotions as the important news which all Manchester United fans and all football fans should prioritize as the important news while other sensitive important information such as how the football has had lack of reasonable investments towards recruiting top talented players at a reasonable pace during the winter and during the summer transfer window has failed to be addressed properly.

Another important topic which has constantly been sectioned off as underground news and systematically failed to attract the attention the topic deserves to be resolved is the topic of young players at the Manchester United academy denied the recognition and promotion to first-team football which a lot these young players which a lot of the Manchester United youth players respectfully deserves to be given.

The Red Devils have watched promising talents such as Gerard Pique, Giuseppe Rossi, David Platt, the list of players who have been snubbed or deprived of the opportunity grow from Manchester United youth system into subsequently thriving in Manchester United senior team goes on and on simply because the act of not affording young talents the opportunity to develop and thrive through promoting young players from Manchester United's youth system and then including youngsters from the youth system into the Manchester  United first team has been subtly discouraged at Carrington over the past number of years.

Consider this, over the past six years the Red Devils have managed to promote five players from the Manchester United academy. Out of all five, the Red Devils has only managed to promote one central midfielder in Scott  McTominay and include the recently departed Angel Gomes, the Red Devils have managed to sit on the sidelines and watch as multiple quality players approach the end of their contract or the end of their time with Manchester United football club.

Subsequently said player is allowed to leave Old Trafford with the players' contract coming to an end with little to no serious attempt made early enough by the managerial staff and the board of directors at Manchester United to convince the player to extend his career at Manchester United.

Ok! Here is the thing. Let us focus on the biggest underground news that has taken place at Old Trafford and see what exactly happened and how the situation got to the level it did at Manchester United. What is the news you ask? Simple answer, one of the most promising young stars in Manchester United’s youth academy has left Manchester United and has elected to join Manchester United’s London rival, Chelsea.

The player in question? Promising young English midfielder Angel Gomes. After the English midfielder was continuously overlooked for a permanent role in Manchester United’s senior team, Angel Gomes has effectively worn down his contract with Manchester United and after failed attempts in Manchester United’s part to renegotiate a new contract with the English attack, Angel Gomes as of July 29, 2020, Angel Gomes has been confirmed to part ways with Manchester United signal the end of yet another talented youngsters career at Manchester United.

Why is Manchester United continuously loosing out on young talented players? The most logical answer that seems very apparent at the moment is that Manchester United fail to live up to the promise of first-team football made to several players in the Manchester United youth academy.

Broken promises of promotion to first-team football given to the majority of youth players enrolled in the Manchester United academy continue to be the downfall of Manchester  United's development at the grassroots level on Old Trafford.

Over the years Manchester United football club had proven the clubs' overwhelming ability to sign youth players under the radar, insert new youth signing into the youth system at Old Trafford, then overtime Manchester United finds an opportunity to insert youth players into the first team at Manchester United to see just how good the young players have developed so far at Carrington.

During sir Alex Fergusons' time as Manchester United head coach, the Red Devils were historically known as one of the leading teams around England who promoting and giving young players a chance to excel in the 1st team at Manchester United. However, over the past several years- during the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era and before the current Ole Gunner era- the Red Devils had been operating under managers that evidentially did not favor the growth and integration of Manchester United youth players into the Manchester United first team.

While current manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer appears to be operating with a few pages located in the handbook of the clubs most successful manager Sir Alex Ferguson by promoting more youth players on a frequent base at the moment, unfortunately, Manchester United appear to have failed to recognize the need for frequent promotion for youth players a little too late as the club lost one of its most promising young talents in Angel Gomes at the hands of an expired contract in June 2020.

The fact that a young talent such as Angel Gomes has been allowed to leave Manchester United football club due to the negligence of Manchester United football club to recognize that the part to retaining the presence both current talented players and young talented players meant to play a significant role in carrying the Red Devils to success soon is to start creating significant space and creating game time in the first team for these young players who have shown signs they might be ready for first-team football.

Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has done a fantastic job to show he is the right manager to transform Manchester United back into a club that wins trophies and the improvement Ole Gunner Solskjaer with integrating players from the youth system at Old Trafford has certainly been better than any other Manchester United manager after Sir Alex Ferguson.

But Ole Gunner Solskjaer might want to endeavor not to completely overlook the youth system at Manchester United in favor of signing players in the transfer window alone. A balance should be maintained between signing players during each transfer window and promoting players from the youth system at Manchester United.
