MANCHESTER UNITED ERIK TEN HAG REBUILD CONTINUES AS THE 2023 SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW UNRAVELS- The Mason Mount Concept Addressed Further(Part 11)
Following the encouraging understanding that Mason Mount is or was insistently pushing for moves to Manchester United, Manchester United executives were understood to have or had ultimately dawned the mindset of not accommodating too much flexibility in the previous negotiation process between Chelsea and Manchester United which has subsequently seen Manchester United spend a little too far above the £50 million budget which Manchester United executives were understood to had set aside for the pursuit of Mason Mount.
Before the completion of the Mason Mount deal, there was an understanding that Manchester United was ready to depart from the negotiation process with Chelsea for the acquisition of Mason Mount with Chelsea having insisted originally that the demanded £67 million demanded by the southwest London club for Mason Mount be paid by any club- in this case Manchester United- intent on acquiring the services of the English midfielder from Stamford Bridge. Using the 2023 summer transfer window in a deal that has certainly brought about a lot of twists and turns, yet another twist was presented in the now completed deal which led to the acquisition of Mason Mount for Manchester United as Manchester United executives had dawned the mindset of walking away from the negotiation with Chelsea.
The reason for the originally implemented decision of walking away from the deal with Chelsea was that the Manchester United executives felt that the financial rate demanded by Chelsea for a player who will essentially be a free acquisition in less than a year as Mason Mount was set to be out of contract with Chelsea in April 2024- was an unrealistic financial demand made by Chelsea.
Where Manchester United and Chelsea had found themselves regarding the Mason mount situation as of mid to early late June 2022 was an understandable cooling off and consideration period where Chelsea had invited Manchester United representatives back into the negotiation table for both clubs to try and sort out a financial package which would be a reasonably acceptable deal for both parties.
The decision ultimately turned out to be the right move with both clubs subsequently landing on the agreed successful £60 million deal to be paid to Chelsea in the form of an initial £55 million payment which has now officially been paid to Chelsea plus an additional £5 million which will also be paid to Chelsea in the form of installment over the next couple years if Manchester United were to successfully lift the trophy or if Manchester United were to successfully win both the Premier League trophy and the Champions League trophy during Mason Mount career as a Manchester United player.
Manchester United, as of Friday, June 28, 2023, had subsequently submitted an improved bid of £60 million built around a £55 million direct payment with an added installment payment of £5 million installment payments from Manchester United executives over the next year or two to be provided to Chelsea Football Club. Chelsea executives were understood to have subsequently accepted the new deal after one or two days of a deliberation period had been incited between Manchester United Executives and Chelsea executives as both executives had intended to allow Chelsea to ponder over the new deal.
A response was ultimately rapidly received from Chelsea executives as of June 29th- 30th with the rapid response having seen Chelsea successfully beat the July 1st deadline implemented by Manchester United before an Official walk away was intended to be carried out by Manchester United executives.
The role Mason Mount played in generating the now successful transition for Mason Mount from Chelsea to Manchester United for £60 million cannot be downplayed with the English midfielder understood to have incited the Chelsea executives to complete the move to Manchester United.
The consistent reminder from the English midfielder to the Chelsea executives that the only goal for Mason Mount concerning his future was to join the club from the red side of Manchester proved rather effective as the insistence from the English midfielder is understood to have been one of the main catalysts which led to the unraveling of the now established four-year contract between Manchester United and Mason Mount making the English midfielder a new Manchester United player until June 2026.
An additional one-year contract extension has subsequently been implemented into the English midfielders’ newly established Manchester United deal which has already started to earn the English midfielder a £250,000 a week salary with the new contract estimated to earn Mason Mount a potential estimated salary of £300,000 a week salary if the English midfielder delivers a regular eye-catching performance from Manchester United throughout his career in the club.
