Are The Glory Days Over For Manchester United?

DISAPPOINTING DAY FOR MANCHESTER UNITED.

If there is any Manchester United fan that can honestly say that he or she can point out any positive sign after the team's game against Sunderland today then he or she did not obviously watch the same game that I watched today.
Where do I start? Do I start from the way the team first relinquished the first goal by giving away a needless free kick that resulted in the first goal? It will be difficult not to open todays blog from any other point in the game. I am still left in the dark as to why Manchester United conceded a needless free kick in the opening moments of the game which resulted in Sunderlands new signing Wahbi Khazri converting the free kick into a goal:
Why the tackle?,the Sunderland player was moving towards the throwing line so why tackle him a few feet away from our penalty box so the tackle was completely pointless and proved costly to the team.
After Manchester United went a goal down it was like the team lost all the game plan created prior to kick off. Manchester United started loosing possession of the ball. The team kept misplacing passes and taking unnecessary shots and barely even had little to no shot on goal through out the game
Before the end of the game, Matteo Darmian was substituted as a result of a shoulder injury he suffered from a collision with the Sunderland right back which might leave Darmian out of action for at least three to four games or more depending on how serious the injury is.

Manchester United was introduced to our new young right back Donald Love who
might be required to make more appearance as a result of the team long list of injured
defenders.

This week I am forced to complain again about the lack of quality defending happening at Old Trafford. Manchester United came into the game against Sunderland sitting in fifth place in the table, four points away from fourth place in the barclays Premiere League table knowing full well that a win take the team a point away from fourth place. Tomorrow, the top four team will play in the Barclays Premiere league with two teams from the top four facing against each other so the result of Sundays game will see at least two teams drop massive points so you know Manchester United Coaching Staffs, Players and Fans will be left feeling remorseful after todays loss. The loss was simply sloppy and avoidable.

Anthony Martial, our new  e80 million pound striker, made the headlines again by grabbing an equaliser  before the end of the half. Like he has done on multiple occasions, Anthony Martial scored the equalizer by delivering a quality lob over the sunderland keeper to bury the ball in the back of the net. Martial has constantly justified his big money move to Old Trafford by coming up with crucial goals in important games this season, so to me, it appears that the striker has justified his big money move to Manchester United with his continuous goals for the game.
Damian's Injury in the second half may have serious consequences in the teams hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season. While attempting to inspire an attack for the team from the defence, Darmian carried the ball out of defence and ran right at the  Sunderland defence but was stopped by Sunderland defencive midfielder Lee Cattermole who jumped right into the Manchester United right back and injuring Matteo Damian in the process. To add salt to injury, the referee awarded the free kick to Sunderland, adding to list of poor decision the referee made during the game.

Darmian may be out of action for four to six weeks.

All through the game, I carefully watched Manchester United relinquish ball possession to Sunderland either as a result of Sloppy passes, horrible decisions or simply not being able to create good, clear goal scoring opportunities in the game. With Manchester United ready to face Arsenal in our next match coming in two weeks after the break in the Premier League coming up next week, Manchester United fans should start to wonder, was Manchester United hopes of qualifying for the champions league next season foolishly thrown away at the stadium of light?
