Time To Invest In The Talents We Have

After the team's performance in the Uefa Europa League game yesterday the final result was nothing but spectacular. However, what was even more spectacular was the manner in which the team got the victory.

Before the game even kicked off the team had announced that the number of injured players in the team had increased immensely and the injuries was affecting the amount of first team players the club is able to play in a game. Rooney, Schweinsteiger, Phil Jones, Shaw, Young, etc are just some of the names on the list of injured players.  With this long injury list in mind and with our refusal to participate in the january transfer window Coach Van Gaal was forced to look to the Manchester United youth team to fill in for the missing players in the team.

To make matters worse, right before the game during the teams warm up, another Crucial Players was withdrawn because of another injury. Anthony Martial went down with a minor hamstring right before the game which dampened the team's ability to inject some pace in our attack. Luis Van Gaal has confirmed that  he is not sure how sure Martial will be out for and that is unfortunate especial since the team is about to face Liverpool next in the Barclay's Premier League.

With the teams recent amount of injuries in mind Manchester United Manager was forced to promote three new players from the Academy to the first team for the Europa League second leg clash.

“Teenage prospects Marcus Rashford (pictured) and Regan Poole both took part in Wednesday's pre-match training session, as did goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira and recent debutants Donald Love and Joe Riley. Young full-backs Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Guillermo Varela are also among the players who have made impressive senior bows this term during some testing and injury-ravaged times for the Reds”.

                                              Report by Gemma Thompson, ,ManchesterUnited.com 25/02/2016 10:16,

The Youngsters all put in an excellent performance and helped the team book a place in the next stage in the Europa League. Young striker Marcus Rashford capped up his own night by scoring a goal in the game to make his debut a memorable one for the fan.

Which brings back the question, is it time for the club to stop focusing on bringing in new players each transfer window but instead, focus more on developing the players in the club by creating equal playing opportunities for both the players in the Academy and the regular first team players. I can say that from the evidence of this past Europa League match performance, creating more time for both the academy players and the regular team players will help the club moving forward.

For now, the club needs to carry the momentum from the win in both the FA Cup and the Europa League into this weekends Premiere League game against Liverpool if we hope to get anything from this coming Premiere League Game and with the club still missing a good number of players due to injuries the fans can look forward to watching some of the Academy players gear up to for the match. Let’s hope the boys can deliver another good performance and help the Club record another win.
