THE WEEKLY ENTRY: What's New With The Red Devils?
Good day
everyone and welcome to Redfern Blogger. Today I will talk a little bit about
three topics in General, the first will be the goalless draw from our trip to
Anfield. Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge and the results the team will hope
to get from this trip. Finally, I will address the manager and how he has
handled the team so far.
First, the goalless draw against Anfield. It’s
obvious to anyone who has caught even a glimpse of Liverpool FC games these
season that the main route to stop Liverpool
from defeating any team is to stop Liverpool's three main source of goal supply
which are Phillippe Coutinho, Roberto
Firmino and Jordan Henderson which made the game the task of scoring a little
more harder for players like Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and company. I will admit
that for most of the game the tempo was controlled by Liverpool but the way the
team was able to get their bodies in front of most goal scoring opportunity
Liverpool created speaks highly about the strong mental focus of the team and I
think most of the credit for the strong, defensive stand and good ball
possession has to go to Ander Herrera. Herrera was impressive, he supplied great
passes to his fellow team mates while Pogba and Fellaini held down the defensive
forth for Manchester United with De Gea continuing to be outstanding in front
of goal by making some amazing saves highlighted by the great shot taken by
Coutinho which was heading straight for goal with power until the spaniard
dove quickly to his left to keep the ball out with one arm. The quality of the save was
magnified by the astonishment on Coutinho face because he, as well as the
entire Anfield crowd was convinced that the strike would give Liverpool the
lead but De Gea was able to keep the teams scoreless all through the game.
Which serves as a reminder that to Old Trafford Owners, Coaching staff, Players
and Fans that the club might have racked up some quality players in the club at
the moment but the club and fans should not forget that the club makes season
after season is to keep De Gea in the team because his quality is hard to come
by.
Finally, today's post will be ended with
todays game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Yes we are facing a very tough
and a very good team today but Manchester United should not forget what the
stakes are in today game, a win will take us to fifth place and a draw will
take us above Everton in sixth and keep
up the pace with the top four teams. How do we beat Chelsea in today's game, first we should expect Chelsea
not to come at us with pace but instead Chelsea will look to hold the ball and
hit Manchester United with quick, surprise attacks through players like Hazard,
Kante, Costa and Willian. So how will Manchester United hope to prevent Chelsea
from beating us? Manchester United
winger's will have to stay vigilant and constantly attempt to come into the
central midfield and stifle Chelsea’s attack. Most importantly and I can not
stress this enough is that Manchester United can not focus on the ora of the
whole issue of Mourinho returning to stamford bridge today, yes it’s exciting
but Mourinho, the players and the fans need to focus on one thing and one thing only avoid the loss
at all cost. Yes, a win will be amazing but the club and the fans should
understand, make no mistake about it, a draw will be just as good a result as a
win today.
