DI MARZIO THE FORTUNE-TELLER: OLD TRAFFORDS WINGER SITTUATION

DI Marzio! If you're a long time Manchester United football fan and you are not familiar with the name then let me put you up to speed with the little information i have on the man. Di Marzio is an italian based journalist whose niche is writing about the activities surrounding not just Manchester United but so many other big club like Juventus, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and so many other football clubs around Europe. The Italian Journalist is so good at his job, he wrote the news that Real Madrid were acquiring Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich and a fews days later Kroos finalized his move from the Bayern to the Bernabeu .  Di Marzio was the first journalist to announce that Manchester United were buying players like David De Gea, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku and low and behold  a few weeks later all his predictions became a reality. So it’s safe to say that Mr Di Marzio has connections in the higher ups which is where most his sources might be coming from.

It might not come as a surprise  to Manchester United fans if i said that the  club is  currently facing a big issue which is shortage of wingers in the team. While other English teams and potential Premier League title contenders like Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester City, Liverpool , Everton, e.t.c  might have five to six skillful wingers that can determine the result of any game with their skill and pace, Manchester United might be heading into the new season with a shortage of wingers.  Four! That’s right. Four actually out and out wingers in the team in the form of Antonio Valencia, Henrik Mikitarian, Anthony Martial and  Juan Mata.  I mean, I guess you could add Jesse Lingard to the list but truth be told the 24 year old Englishman might be more effective in the squad if he will be used in the middle of park as a center attacking midfielder with the help of the two big men Lukaku and Pogba supporting the young man from both the middle and front of the park.  Regardless, Manchester United is still facing a lack of player on the flanks this coming season.

So what has DiMarzio got to do with any of this you ask? Well for the past couple of seasons and off seasons, DiMarzio has made it a habit of predicting which players are about to move to a new club or which players are willing to change sceneries and switch club. This season, the italian has not only been busy making near perfect calls on the transfer window so far but he usually blog about quality players coming out of Italy, Netherlands etc and most of this players happen to be winger with loads of potential to succeed if given the chance in england. Which makes me wonder, with this anonymous list of players that Mourinho wants to bring in the club which was presented to  Manchester United Board of directors a couple of months back, is it possible that no other wingers or wingback are being considered besides Serge Aurier and Ivan Perisic? Yes I know the deal with Perisic broke down the Croatian international apparently changed his mind and the Aurie deal went south because he had a problem with his visa and is not allowed in the country but with Manchester United's influence combined with Dimarzios excellent scouting skills I expect Manchester United to pick up one player either a winger.  If Manchester United does however pick up a wing back it will allow Valencia to move up as a winger and inject more pace through the wing.

It’s  the middle of the month of August and as we all enjoy  the remaining weeks of our summer, we can’t help but wonder what special event might be heading our way.  It can’t be  the all important fifa world cup, that is still a few years away.  No! It’s not the all important Fifa world cup, that exciting event is still a few months away. It can not be the all important but yet ever exist ever exciting Uefa Champions League competition because the Champions League just concluded with the eventual champions Real Madrid lifting up the trophy for the twelfth time in the clubs history, congratulation to real madrid by the way, but as a /writer i’m not here to talk about real madrid's achievement. In case you haven’t realized, The Premier League is back! Yes, England's most viewed competition is back to be viewed live in person and on our television sets. Exciting times are back in Old Trafford once again and Manchester United have certainly made good business deals during on-going summer transfer window. First the club splashed the cash and brought in the swedish Center Back Victor Lindloff from Portuguese side SL Benfica for a fee of 35 million pounds with a potential  10 million pound in ad-ons. Heading towards the end of last seasons premier League Campaign, it became clear that one of manchester United's barrier  to success was the lack of stability in the back. So the partnership of Lindloff and Bailey or Smalling should bring strong stability in the team's defence. Of Course bring in Lindelof  was not the only piece of business the club was able to accomplish this current summer .
But the biggest signing Manchester United has made this season has been the signing of Romelu Lukaku and the Serbian Defensive rock of a midfielder called Nemanja Matic. Every modern english football fan who has ever watched Everton FC  for a single match must be familiar with the name Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku was the main engine that helped Everton FC maintain a high position in the premier league. Ever since the big belgium striker made his way to Everton the big Belgium was able to net 68 goals and 141 appearances in his four season at Everton. With those statistics anyone can see why Manchester United jumped at the chance of splashing £75 million plus add ons to Everton for the big mans services for the next four seasons at Old Trafford and the big man did not waste time showing the club and the Old Trafford fans has wasted no time in repaying his no club by slotting in two goals in his first debut match for Manchester United in the Premier League so far. Quick, Powerful and accurate when it comes to finding the back of the net, if the big striker can keep up this high level of performance and stay healthy for the rest of the season, then Old Trafford fans can look forward to big things from the club in all competition this season. Is it enough though? Can this team hold it together and clinch the Premier league and the UEFA Champions League trophies this season? I Think so but I believe manchester United need to strengthen in the wings before the transfer window closes.  Juan Mata, Henrik Mikitarian, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial are the listed wingers Manchester United are operating with this season.  As you can see, Manchester United are short in the wing and still have time to buy a winger or two before the transfer deadline.

As you view the video above of Zlatan's interview on the new video game based on his character, I felt like the video would create a good transition into the strikers current situation.  News has surfaced from Manchester United Evening News as well as other news sources that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become a wanted player by his former employers AC Milan. The Italian giants are ready to make an unknown bid that will see the swedish superstar return to the San Siro. A club where he made a combined total of 61 appearances and 42 goals in two seasons. With those stats, anyone can clearly see why AC Milan Director Massimiliano Mirabelli is intent on bringing the big Center-forward back to Italy for one more season before Zlatan's career ends. However, I think Mourinho should resist the temptation of releasing Ibrahimovic.  Yes Ibrahimovic has reached that stage in his career where age might limit his time on the pitch but Zlatan has shown last season that he still has a few tricks up his sleeves & Mourinho might want keep him around a bit longer, limit his minutes on the pitch down to 60 maybe. Ibrahimovic could still be the man to give the team a little extra boost this season.
