WHAT ABOUT THE YOUNGSTERS?

It really is a curious case of Benjamin Butler when we try to address the issues surrounding Manchester United youth team. As a fan of the club and as a writer and blogger for Manchester United, I try focus on the major and minor things going on at the club. Today, I will be discussing the club’s youth team and their struggle to fulfil their dreams of breaking into Manchester United first team and become professional footballers. Joe Riley, Ethan Hamilton, Callum Gribbin, Cameron Borthwick Jackson and Angel Gomez are just some of the talented youngsters still aspiring to the first team. But is not only a call up to the first team but also a possible realisation of a permanent place at which Manchester United FC, given the incredible large amount of money spent during the transfer season to upload and strengthen the Manchester United squad at Old Trafford. How are these boys supposed to aspire, compete and meet the required standards rate without organised tryouts?  To be honest, some of the young lads are quite talented and  having proven on a number of occasions that they can perform on the big stage with the big boys.

So what else will it take for these boys to earn a call up to the first team from Manager Mourinho? Youth coach and ex Manchester United legend Nicky Butt had stated in a small interview that United youngsters are performing on a high level which might be translated as saying that some of the youngsters are ready for the big stage. Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and yes, Paul Pogba have all risen from Old Trafford's youth ranks and have become game changers or are on their way to becoming superstars in Old Trafford.

With the current low level of activity Manager Mourinho have taken in the transfer window this summer by bringing in Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku this summer does that mean Manchester United will be looking to promote some youngsters to the first team this season? Especially considering the knowledge that Manchester United will be challenging for the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup when the competition starts? No one except Mourinho knows but I know that these two facts are certain,Youth coach Nicky Butt have made sure the youngsters are ready to perform on a high level which Manchester United fans expect from the players.

To summarize I will end with this question and provide a short possible question & option, will Mourinho look to his youth and academy players to give the club that extra boost to turn the club into Champions this season?  With the transfer window closed, Manchester United concentrating fully on their football and the clubs ambitions  of winning two major titles , it might be a season where the manager calls on the youth team for reinforcement. One things for sure, the youngster have their boots strapped and ready to answer the call should the manager need more fire power this season.
