LIFE AFTER THE LOSS

Good day everyone and welcome back to Redfanblogger. The blog that focuses on Manchester United but i’m sure almost everyone already knew that. Today's topic, the loss to newly promoted side Huddersfield town and the team's reaction to the loss. If you missed the game two weekend ago or have not had the chance to check the news about the club, The red devils lost and their long run in all competition without a loss ended in a shocking 3-1 defeat in the weekend which had the whole Manchester United team and Manchester United fans boiling with frustration and disappointment. Well the red devils are a team that has always been good at hiding their frustration after each loss but it was clear that the team were unable to hide their disappointment after dropping all three points away to Brighton at the weekend. How do I know this? Well, the team's body language during the halftime break really showed the amount of disappointment in their performance because Manchester United players are usually hyper and talking to each other during the halftime break when the Red Devils have performed really well in the game but during the halftime break in the weekend game against Brighton Albion, the red devils were already two goals down and had created little to no goal scoring chances during the first half.  So you can imagine the level of disappointment in the faces of the players as they walked down the tunnel for the half time team talk. The red devils put on a better performance in the second half and pulled a goal back through the combination of a Lukaku cross and a good finish by Rashford. United put up a fight for the rest of the game but the Red Devils were not able to complete the come-back and eventually conceded their first defeat of the season to Brighton.

The main point that caught my attention and the attention of most football Analyst was definitely not the team's loss but the comments of one of Manchester United's players Ander Herrera during his post match interview with sky sports television. Herrera was asked how thought the team performance and Herrera said       " The team performed well in the first half but the team poor in the second half and Brighton deserved the win and Manchester United just did not play well enough for the win”.

You can imagine the shock Mourinho had when he heard his own player criticized the team in such a negative manner. “wow! He said that? Well I mean if one of your own players is going to criticize the team public then that says a lot about the team chemistry.”  You can bet that ex Manchester United players turned Analyst were very disappointed in Herrera for his comments after the game as was I.

We’ve all seen Manchester United drop points against teams that most viewers would not expect them to lose in the past, it happens. No matter how strong the team is, there’s going to be some stumbles along the way, agreed. But I can’t quite remember a time when Manchester United team of past lost a game and one of our own player came out and publically criticized his own teammates. Wow! Don't get me wrong, what Herrera said was right, United were terrible and the better team did win on the day but you don’t criticize your own team mates because that not only damages the team chemistry but it puts doubts on not just the minds of the fans but also on the minds of the owners. I’m not saying that a firing is right around the corner but the question “ does the manager have a handle on his own player” might just start to creep in, which might crack the unity of the team a little bit.

On a good conclusion, Manchester United did respond to that Unexpected loss this past weekend with a solid win against Swansea in the EFL Cup, a huge victory against a Tottenham that has been firing on full blast this season and a couple of victories in the Uefa Champions League to put the team on the brink of qualifying for the Knockout Stage of the Champions League.

Now that is the sought of football that will bring back confidence in the team, at the same time ignite the belief, trust of the fans and owners back into the team. United controlled the games against Swansea and Tottenham which took the opponents completely out of their rhythm and came through with victories in each match.

                                    POGBACK MAYBE?

The question now is: Will United be able to bring that same fire and Intensity against a Chelsea side that is simply on Blistering form this season? the return of Paul Pogba will certainly make the game a little more comfortable for Mourinho and the fans to watch. As far as the assurance of a victory today, only time will tell. But after the performance the Red Devils showed in the EFL Match and this past week's Premier League game, Manchester United look ready for the big match this weekend.
