MANCHESTER UNITED'S WEEKLY REPORT

Decent season filled with negatives and positives, that seems to be the echoes coming out the red half of Manchester as the season in general reaches its climax in a few weeks time. Manchester United football club have gotten so used to being successful in any competition the club participates in that any result shot of a trophy success will always be considered an abysmal season which in turn leads to fans clamouring for changes in the crop of players present at the club in that moment or leads to fans clamouring for a change of manager prior to the start of the upcoming season. The transition from the current season, – the preseason- the summer business activity,- to the new season is like an old record that is constantly on repeat. You know the words, you know you don’t want to play the record or don’t need to play the record for just this one morning but for one reason or the other,  be it your pride or your ego, you just can not resist playing that same record in the morning. Manchester United are once again heading towards that same old record as the current season almost reaches the end. The saddest part of all of this is that the current season has not even reached its end at the moment and already Manchester United fans alongside the English media are already of to the races on spreading rumours and speculations of which players should be axed from the club.

After Paul Pogba's massive return to the club he calls home, the media and even most of manchester United fans were quick to create a list of players whom should depart Old Trafford to make room for even more new, exciting, attack minded players. On my research into the minds of the Old Trafford crowd, I found names such as Ander Herrera, Chris Smalling, Marouane Fellaini(as usual), Anthony Martial, Juan Mata( the thought of these two men even being considered to make the list is absolutely ridiculous all on its own but here we are) and Phil Jones. Interesting! Just to be clear, this are a list of players that the media and the fans of Manchester United have created through careful analysis on the role of players and the influence of each player on the squad and have concluded that this players might have no future in Manchester United due to either lack of desired quality or simply because the fans do not feel these have Manchester United quality. Well, after careful  analysis, multiple media outlets such as Talksport UK have concluded that an influential player such as Ander Herrera should be and might be justifiably on their way out of Manchester United. But the question that the Manchester United Post.com has for these media outlets, for the manchester United manager and most of all the Manchester United fans is: Where is the data to prove some of these players should be gone from Old Trafford? Don’t misunderstand my intentions as a writer, I do support the fact that Manchester United need improvements on our defensive area and even on parts of our midfield in other to challenge fierce rivals such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Champions league rivals such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona for Trophies next season but what I want to know is where is the data to support the claim that some of these players are not good enough to be at Manchester United next season?

Prio to last weekend big Manchester derby victory, the big talking point around Old Trafford was that Manchester United are circling around the idea of selling one of the clubs most prolific players from two season ago Anthony Martial. The reason why the fans and the media support the  thought of selling the prolific french star is to create more minutes on the field for Manchester United newest number 7  Alexis Sanchez. And just like that, Anthony Martial whose name was being chanted like a greek folk war hero has quickly turned into an automatic outcast at Manchester United. Listen, the reality is that the reason why Anthony Martial has lost his position in Manchester United(for a second time in a row by the way ie: Zlatan Ibrahimovic situation) is not because Martial is not good enough to be a Manchester United player, the reason is also not because there is no space for him on the squad with Sanchez on the squad because truth be told, Mourinho can play Martial on the left hand side play Sanchez as either a central attacking midfielder and then appoint either Juan Mata or Marcus Rashford as a right winger with Pogba playing the free roaming center midfield position, Matic holds down the central defensive midfield position and Lukaku acts as the lone striker. Mourinho solutions to Manchester United's run of multiple seasons with no trophy is quite simple: Field your strongest players in the position where they will be most lethal. Let us look at the statistics for Sanchez from his Arrival at Old Trafford till that: since his arrival at Manchester United since January 2018 till date, Alexis has created most goals for himself and for his teammates from the middle of the park just outside the penalty box. Alexis has also done most of effective work for Manchester United when he is allowed to come into the middle of the field which drags the attentions of the opponents defence and allows Sanchez to make a pass to an overlapping Manchester United midfielder or Sanchez looks to switch with an everwilling Romelu Lukaku to create goals for themselves and other teammates. Now if that does not scream middle of the park player then I don't know what does.

In Conclusion, I will keep this short and precise, play the lads in their most dangerous positions. If Manchester United are planing to mount a serious campaign for both the Premier League Title and the UEFA Champions League trophies next season, then the Red Devils simply cannot afford to lose a player like Anthony Martial's with the quality he possesses. Manchester United definitely can not afford to leave him on the bench next and watch yet another season pass by without having our best players out on the pitch regularly. Mourinho has to understand that utilizing Alexis Sanchez on the center attacking midfielder or the supporting striking with Pogba as the free roaming midfielder, Martial operating on the left and Lukaku doing what he does best as the striker. Yes the manager can switch with Lingard playing on the central attacking midfield position and Juan Mata located on the hand side of the wing but for 50% of the matches Manchester United play next season Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial have to start together.
