MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS : MID-WEEK TRANSFER STORIES

“Better to have fought and have lost than throw down the weapons and accept defeat”. These words can not relate any better to Manchester United than now. These words relate to Manchester United even better after the clubs, recently, concluded season that ended with a disappointing FA Cup final at the hands one of Manchester United’s numerous London rivals Chelsea. Yes, the season has officially over for Manchester United and sadly with the club underachieving in all competitions including the Emirates Cups, formerly known as the FA Cup, a competition which Manchester United themselves had successfully won and used as a sought of small beacon as official been taken away from the football following last weekends defeat. Even though Manchester United fans might have had a lot of situations to complain about during last weekends battle with Chelsea such as terrible officiating, Mourinho questionable choice of starting XI, one very positive aspect that was very refreshing to see as spectators was the level of Intensity and the type of hunger Manchester United shows in large parts of the match.

All through this past season, Manchester United fans had gotten so used to viewing their beloved perform with such a flat tempo in almost every game the team participated on that at some point during this past season the expectations from the fans in regards to the teams’ performance level turned into a situation where the fans expected the team to play with a slow pace in almost every game this concluded season. So you can imagine the absolute shock and delight plastered across the faces of most Manchester United fans when they witnessed a strong defensive, non resilient attack minded, Manchester United team taking the game to Chelsea by continously laying pounds and pounds of pressure on Chelsea’s defence. As an analyst, while some aspects of the match were filled with contentious decisions that left the team empty handed at the final whistle, you must have loved the level of hunger and passion devoted by all Manchester United players who played in last weekends final.

“Best team won. But completely happy with the efforts of my player”.  That was Mourinho commenting at his post match conference of this seasons FA Cup final loss. Pure content and satisfaction from the manager on the

performance his players but could this be read as some level of content from the manager in the way the club is currently performing. With no intention of sufficiently adding to the team this summer?

Definitely not!  The news of Manchester United’s plans to improve the club in this summer’s transfer window will come as no surprise to a large number of football fans across the globe after Jose Mourinho declared during his interview that Manchester United will indeed be active this summer. As expected, thousands of Manchester United fans as well as Football Vloggers have already begun to cast their opinions as to which Players Manchester United have, presumably, already bought so early into the transfer window.

This week’s news is one big one that has Mourinho showing he is indeed a man of his words as Manchester United has secured the signature of former Benfica ace man Anderson Tulisca. The 24-year-old Brazilian who recently returned to his parent club Benfica from a loan spell from Turkish side Benfica, will be packing his bag and making his way to Old Trafford in a matter of weeks. The deal worth 35 million pounds will see Mourinho seal the signature of the 24-year-old Brazilian mid-fielder. The part about this news that will be icing on the cake for Manchester United fans is that if Manchester United do unveil Anderson Tulisca as a Manchester United player, which is expected to happen in a Matter of weeks, Mourinho will have solve two problems currently facing Manchester United with a single purchase. In other words, to quote the modern day cliché, Mourinho will have “killed two birds with one stone”.

As a number of Manchester United fans might be aware of after watching Manchester United play this past season, two problems which Manchester United found incredibly problematic in the team was that Manchester United lacked enough creative, fast players in team, especially from the right side of the field. Marcus Rashford had done a terrific job most of last season when Mourinho decided to deploy young Rashford on the right side for a majority of last seasons matches. Although Rashford broke into Manchester United first team as a natural out and out striker, Rash ford has successfully grown into a very productive right wing player for the Red devils but with the purchase of Talisca, Rash-ford looks destined to share his playing minutes with Manchester United’s new Brazilian hit man as soon as the Red Devils official unveil Tallish as a Manchester United player.

Speaking to reporters this past week on the future of Talisca, Besiktas manager openly admitted to the move, although the manager addressed the topic indirectly, when he responded as follows:

“I’m sorry to announce that Talisca will not be with us next season. Talisca has parted ways with Besiktas and we wish him all the best. Talisca will be a rival to former Besiktas team mate Cenk Tosun next season .” Cenk Tosun, as some people might be aware of, is the ex-Besiktas player who currently plays his football with Premier League side Everton which could indicate that Talisca might be heading to Anfield this summer.  when asked if the Besiktas manager could be a little clearer and if his statement puts Liverpool as a possible destination for Talisca next season, the manager responded with the statements “Look higher!”

The question now falls to the Manchester United supporters as to how they feel about the clubs new signing Talisca?. Undoubtedly, Talisca is a great player with a lot of attacking quality that will potential boost the clubs attacking strength next season. But the question still remains: Is this the necessary move that Manchester United needs to be making to be successful next season? If we analyze Manchester United team as a whole, the results will constantly remain that, Manchester United’s attack and Manchester United midfield is good enough to win any current competition in Europe at the moment. Ask numerous managers around Europe: if their squad has players like Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Romelu Lukaku all playing at their club tomorrow, will the squad be able to win a Title?  The answer to the question will generally come in the form of a question such as “depends on how good other players in the club are?”. i.e., do the club have enough defenders in the team or will the club have time to develop the defence?” There lies Manchester United’s current problem which is that the club either fails to see that the clear problem facing the club is lack of one extra solid defender or Manchester United Owners with Mourinho are easily deluding themselves thinking the teams’ current defenders will eventually be good enough to win a trophy.

The truth is that The ManchesterUnitedPost is a website that focuses on linking the thoughts of the Fans of Manchester United with the actions of Manchester United football club itself and finding the balance between the two. At the moment, the actions of the board members with the help of the manager seems to negate the needs, the demands and the expectations of the clubs’ fan base. Here you have a club ready to spend millions of pounds this summer and yet no mention of buying a defender. Simply shows the level of poor management in the club.

As if Manchester United’s football clubs’ situation was not bleak enough, The ManchesterUnitedPost is sad to announce that Manchester United’s star player Paul Pogba has declared his unwillingness to devote his future to Manchester United. Pogba will be heading into the final stages in his current contract with the Red Devils next season, the Red devils will be left with two choices of either selling Pogba to French giants PSG who have declared strong interest in signing the French man this summer and risk losing Pogba next season for free when Pogba officially becomes a free agent or simply convince Pogba to sign a new contract under the promise that Manchester United will improve the squad this summer to a team that win the Premier League next season.

Finally, judging from Mourinhos' source of frustration last season, which clearly was the state at which Manchester United’s midfield was operating and adding the position of which Mourinhos' first supposed summer signing, Talisca, operates, it seems the verdict of Mourinhos' priority this summer might be improving Manchester United’s attacking strength by buying new attacking players. The Manchester United Manager will certainly have a sufficient amount of financial surpport from Manchester United’s owner and Board member after the club released the clubs transfer budget estimated to be worth at least 100 million pound. Mourinho only job this summer will be to find the right players that will be right fit for the club but most importantly, Mourinho's choice of players has to include at least one quality defender who will work together with the current batch of defenders to bring solidity to Manchester United’s' back line. Mourinho has openly declared that Manchester United have plans clearing a large number of players from Manchester United in other to make room for new, incoming, players this summer and as exciting as the plans are, unless these plans include at least one out and out central defender, Manchester will struggle to succeed once again next season.
