MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS : WEMBLEY WAITING TO CROWN A CHAMPION
If you are a
fan of Manchester United football club or you are football fan whom is not a
complete fan of Manchester United but you occasionally come across news feed
about the football club, then the two words which you might be tired of seeing
or hearing by now are the words Paul Pogba. Yes, it seems as if Manchester United’s
talented French Man is always the subject of speculation to move away from Old
Trafford and as the commencement of this summer transfer window draws ever
closer, the never ageing trend created by Sports magazines of making Pogba the headliner
just has not seem to come to an end.
This week
the Manchester United Evening News magazine has reported that the French
Midfielder is ready to home town club giants Paris St German this summer and
even though Manchester United manager, along with Pogba himself, have quickly
set the records straight stating that Pogba is a Manchester United player and
both Manchester United and Paul Pogba have every intention of keeping the situation
the way it is in the future, The ManchesterUnitedWeekly suspects that we have
not seen the last of the news regarding Pogba. As of now, Pogba is a Manchester
United player and that is the fans would love the situation to remain.
Today is all about the FA Cup final as
Manchester United aim to close the clubs entire season with another FA Cup
title to add to Old Trafford’s trophy cabinet. Manchester United has had a history
of success in the FA Cup competitions emerging as twelve time winners, most of
which were captured under different leadership of Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex
Ferguson. During the Sir Ferguson era (which is the closest historical era any
modern generation fan might be able to recall) Manchester United have been
criticized to have played against opponents whom have been deemed as a lesser
opponents compared to the opponents that currently play grade A football in
England.
In other
words, the level of modern day football have be judged to be a lot more
difficult than the level of football played in the past. English football has
developed immensely in recent years that the notion of underdogs has been
rendered irrelevant in this day and age. Every football club is constantly
improving, every football club is constantly working towards winning every
football match and the theory of constant improvement on most clubs around
England season after season automatically eradicates the notion that Manchester
United will be odds on favourites to lift the FA Cup title at the conclusion this
Sundays game. The Red Devils would not need telling that there are heading into
a very difficult, 90 minute, battle this Saturday especially considering the
history between Manchester United and Saturdays opponents Chelsea. Chelsea have
proven to be a difficult hurdle for Manchester United in recent times and
taking into account that Mourinho had previous charge over the blues, recent
encounters between Manchester United and Chelsea have resulted to less than
desirable results for Manchester United. So what is news from Old Trafford prior
to Sundays Clash? Mourinho has recently revealed the list of twenty-four
players scheduled to make the trip down to Wembley for this Sundays crunch
match and judging from the names of players of Players on the list, the early
assumption is that Manchester United is hell bent on leaving Wembley stadium
with nothing less than the FA Cup trophy. The Red devils twenty two men
projected team list which include : David De Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira,
Mateo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailey, Victor Linderlöff, Phil Jones,
Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Delay Blind, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera,
Scott Mctominay, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse
Lingard, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Antony Martial and Marcus Rashford all
destined to board the bus heading from Manchester to Wembley this Friday with
Mourinho left with an abundance of Talented option to start with this Sunday. Sadly,
ManchesterUnitedWeekly is currently unable to attain any news from Mourinho in
regards to who makes the starting IV for Manchester United this Saturday but
this websites predicts that Manchester United will emerge with a sought of
4-3-3 type of formation where Smalling
and Bailey will be the elected center
back while Ashley Young and Valencia will operate as the left wing backs and
right wing backs respectively. The Midfield will definitely have Nemanja Matic
and Ander Herrera playing as the two holding Midfielders. ManchesterUnitedWeekly
picks Herrera to start this Saturday over Mctominay or Fellaini simply because Herrera
has proven time and time again to be a strong performer, not just in the FA
Cup competition but most especially, during crucial games where Manchester
United are aware that the agenda for the match is a win or burst. During those
win or burst games, Herrera tends to step up and turn into a sought of second leader
in the pitch automatically and that’s why ManchesterUnitedWeekly has Ander
Herrera in the starting IX for this Saturdays match. Pogba will operate as the
Attacking midfielder on Saturday. The French man has been criticized by the
Media for lacking the defensive mentality most complete Midfielders need to
have an advantage over their opponents. In Pogba’s defence, the midfielder has
never really had to participate much in defensive duties for most of his
career. In the past, during his time as a Juventus player and even when he
plays for France, Pogba mostly had superb defensive players behind him to
provide support for the teams defence which meant Pogba did not necessarily
need contribute immensely to the teams defence. The challenges expected from
the potential future leader of Manchester United continues to flow in courtesy
of sports journalists, football pundits and Manchester United fans but Pogba
will be fine. He is a top quality footballer and will continue to flourish at
Old Trafford if he remains at the club and Mourinho allows him the licence to
roam forward next season.
Out wide, Mourinho will have Alexis
Sanchez in the Left wing and who gets to start on the right wing spot on
Saturday will be a question mark because of the potential competition between
fellow England mates Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford. Both Lingard and
Rashford have proven that they have earned a place in Saturdays starting
line-up and the difficult decision of who starts this weekends rest on Mourinho
shoulders. Sanchez is another Manchester United player whom has also received
his own share of critics from football pundits as well. The Chilean has been
criticized for keeping hold of the ball for too long, allows himself to be
crowded out and stripped away from the ball. Mourinho himself has shown frustrations
towards his team for dwelling on the ball for to long i.e. taking too many
touches and Sanchez has been guilty of this accusation on few moments during
games this season. With that being said, Sanchez misdemeanors has not taken
away the fact that he has been an excellent performer for Manchester United
ever since his move to Old Trafford and Manchester United will hope to see
Sanchez put in an good shift along with the rest of the team tonight.
Finally, we move on to Center Forward position
which will be filled by Manchester United’s, big number 9, Romelu Lukaku. Or
will it? Earlier this week and for the past weeks, Mourinho had delivered a devastating
news to Manchester United fans worldwide when the Manager addressed the unclear
news surrounding the injury Lukaku suffered and the possibility that Lukaku might
not be match ready for tonight. Lukaku sustained his current injury during
Manchester United final game of the season and has since been a doubt to
feature in this weekends FA Cup final. With Lukaku still in doubt for tonight
FA Cup final, it’s clear that Mourinho would implement another striker upfront and
the news circling around is that Marcus Rashford is favourite to start tonight.
Placing Rashford as the starting lone striker tonight will be beneficial for
Manchester United for tonight’s FA Cup final because Chelsea defence have shown
lack of pace for a few games this season. Antonio Rudiga and Gary Cahill whom
are both expected to start for Manchester United’s opponents tonight, Chelsea, are
not particularly known for their explosive burst of pace. So, should Mourinho
choose to start with Rash-Ford up front this Saturday the strategy will only put
Manchester United at an advantage to be victorious come the final whistle tomorrow.
Saturdays game will be Manchester United’s final opportunity of silverware this
season and the club will be desperate to end the season with the FA Cup sitting
at the clubs’ trophy cabinet by the end of tomorrow at least. Manchester United
remains, undoubtedly, one of richest football club in the world but the
football club still operates as a business none the less. Like any business,
the owners will never be shy to splash the necessary cash to buy needed players
this summer but owners will be open to spend on the main bases that the team
starts winning some level of trophies in Old Trafford once again. Few changes
are expected in Manchester United in the form of new players this summer but players
will be willing to sign only if the clubs’ appetite for success will match the
players own. Victory on Sundays FA Cup final will not just be about giving
Manchester United club as a whole some validation this seasons outcome but will
serve to show the fans what is to come next season and also serve as more
incentive to new players willing to join the club this summer. Victory might
just be mandatory for Manchester United this Saturday.
