MANCHESTER UNITED TODAY : WEEKLY NEWS & TRANSFER UPDATES
Who will
Manchester United sign this summer? With a lot of quality players ready to put
themselves on the market this summer, the possibilities are endless. We all saw
how Mourinho suffered with an inconsistent defence this recently concluded season.
But is Manchester United’s defence all to blame for the clubs lack of success
last season? The fact is that even Jose Mourinho himself will be the first to
admit that his team’s defensive quality has been performing at a subpar level
so far and the fans have been quick to alert Mourinho of the mandatory
improvement needed in Manchester United’s defence this Transfer Window. But is
Manchester United’s defence the only area in the team that needs improvements
in the club through out this summer transfer window? Through out the past two
season Manchester United have fallen victims to an unfortunate illness that the
club just can not seem to escape which is slow build up football. Ever since
the introduction of Mourinho as Manchester United manager, Mourinho have quickly
switched the clubs historical 4-4-2 formation to his preferred 4-5-1 formation
with two holding Midfielders shielding Manchester United’s backline for the
entire ninety minute for almost this past season. Therefore, as far as priority
is concerned, the most important aspect of Manchester United current squad will
heavily endeavour to find a solution to has to be Manchester United’s Back
line. But what about the midfield? With Michael Carrick now officially ended
his wonderful playing career at Old Trafford and Anthony Martials (is he going
to stay or is he not going to stay) future at Manchester United still very much
uncertain, the question now is: what’s the next step for Manchester United. Should Mourinho look to part ways with one of
his current players to make room for the new players the club has promised to
deliver this summer. Today, we will be discussing which Players are rumoured to
be on their way into Old Trafford, which Players are rumoured to be on their
way out of Old Trafford and how possible this signing can be this summer.
So who is the
new players rumoured to be headed to Manchester United? Well for the first time
in a while, Manchester United fans will be delighted to hear that the Red
Devils will not be chasing after another attacking player but instead are
rumoured to be going after French defender Rafael Varan. The 25-year-old French
defender who currently plays his football with Spanish Giants Real Madrid has
grown amongst the ranks at Real Madrid from a young defender bidding his time,
developing his talents as a second choice defender to becoming the strong, confident
and quality, first choice defenders in the Real Madrid. Varane is quick,
strong, tenacious and intelligent when picking the right moment to deliver the
right tackle. Currently sitting at such a young age Varane has already made the
quick climb as one of Europe’s most wanted defenders and who could blame any
football club that wants to add this marvelous player in its roaster next season?
But sadly Varane has a release clause in his current contract with Real Madrid
worth 200 million euros which will currently prevent the French Man from
leaving Real Madrid till the summer of 2022. The news will definitely come as a
disappointment for Manchester United who had started dreaming of the possibility
of Varane making the move from Santiago Bernie stadium to Old Trafford this
upcoming 2018 summer transfer window. There is still one major factor that can
facilitate Varane joining Manchester United this summer and that will once
again be the Buyout Clause. Manchester
United are in desperate need of a quality defender to add stability to
Manchester United’s defence next season and Varane seems to be the right fit to
partner Eric Bailey and bring stability to Manchester United rocky defence. €200 million might prove to be a little
difficult but not an impossible cost to afford should the Red Devils turn
adamant in their pursuit of the French Man.
One player
whom has been mentioned here at the ManchesterUnitedPost.com to be a suitable
candidate to help solve Manchester United’s defensive issue was 25 years old ex
FC Porto defender Diego Reyes. Reyes had an eye catching season with FC Porto
two seasons ago when he helped to secure the 2017-2018 Primeira League Title.
In the process of leading the Portuguese champions to their Championship
winning season, Reyes scored a total of 5 goals in 47 appearances combined. But
Reyes goal scoring abilities was not the main reason the Mexican international
defender has caught the eyes of some big European clubs in recent times, Reyes
is also skilled with pace, Energy, tackling and can pick an accurate pass from
his own defence to his attacking team mate to trigger a counter attack. Blessed
with skills which any manager would love at his club. Mourinho will be in the
market for a steady defender this summer and the possibility of Manchester
United signing 25-year-old Diego Reyes, the reports are that no talks or
contact between Manchester United and the Players agent C.U.P.A international
over any deals as of yet. While Diego Reyes market valued is currently set at 5
million pound, acquiring this defenders signature this summer while be
considered good business for Mourinho and Mr. Ed Woodward if Manchester United
decides to bring Reyes over to Old Trafford this summer.
In conclusion,
with the new decision made by FIFA to open the Transfer window in the middle of
the month of May rather than the middle of June. Lots of football clubs will
see the early commencement of the Transfer window as an opportunity to finalize
any deals regarding any players to the club wants to buy or sell early and
completely focus on pre that has been strongly linked to Manchester United and
possibly even done already is the Alex Sandro to Manchester United. This news
dropped right after the conclusion of Manchester United Final Premier League
game against Watford that Manchester United have already signed Alex Sandro.
The reason that this news might have some authentication to it is simply
because FIFA has recently moved the official date for Transfer Window to open
late May rather than early June. Sandro will be a suitable left back for
Manchester United if the news was true but Mourinho has already shown his trust
and approval with Ashley Young and Luke Shaw which means that Luke Shaw could
still have a future in Manchester United after all. Manchester United’s wing
back situation has always been performing magnificently and if Mourinho decides
not to purchase any new Wing Backs this summer Manchester United will be fine
next season. Where there will be a major problem for Manchester United will be
if the club decides not to take full advantage of this early summer transfer
window to purchase at least one Center-Back to aid the back line next season
and in future seasons to come. As usual, The ManchesterUnitedWeekly.Blogspot.com
will be paying close attention to the activities in Old Trafford and discuss
any news that involves Manchester United as soon as possible. Be sure to visit
