MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS: MOURINHO ON THE BRINK OF DELIVERING HIS PROMISE YET AGAIN?

One or two more signing on the way! Yes! Rejoice Manchester United fans. Rejoicing is certainly what the entire Manchester United community will be doing after the manager announced earlier last week that there will be, not one more player but, two more players to be signed by the club before the official end of this summers transfer window. This news makes the Manchester United community feels as happy as “Winnie the Pooh with a fresh new jar of honey”. Ecstatic! But the question now is: Can Manchester United pull off a transfer with literally two days left until the the transfer window closes ?Over the past couple of days, the news surrounding Manchester United was that Mourinho might be done with his summer business with the signing of Fred and Diogo Dalot early on in the transfer window. Since then Mourinho appeared withdrawn from the transfer window, casting the illusion that Manchester United might have concluded their summer transfer early and Mourinho seemed content with the purchase of just two new players heading into the start of the new season. ever since then, Manchester United fans had gone into a little bit of a panic mode in fear that two signings will not be enough to win Manchester United both Premier League title and the Champions League title this upcoming season. in other for Manchester United to be successful in both competition this coming season, The Red Devils needs to complete one more signing before the transfer window closes. That is the general belief of a majority of Manchester United fans and the press.

Well, Santa Mourinho might not have been able to deliver major trophies to Manchester United, Yet! But he certainly comes through when it matters in the transfer window. “At least one more signing coming in before the end of the transfer window” Mourinho confirmed last week during an interview when Mourinho was asked by a reporter if there were any more signings to be made by Manchester United in the next two weeks when the transfer window officially closes. This news will come as a means of comfort to the Manchester United fans who have been concerned that Manchester United might be falling into the trouble of waiting till the end of the transfer window to complete the last transfer of the transfer window. But the biggest question at the moment is “Who will the last signing of the summer be? A lot of sports websites from the words of sports journalist have had their say on who this last signing can be and even though there has been a lot of guesses as to who this last signing is, the truth is that the only person who knows who the last signing can be is Mourinho and Ed Woodward. But on a positive note, there have been numerous reports of quality footballers linked with a move to Manchester United in the last few days left in the current summer Transfer window.

On a more brighter note, apparently Manchester United have made a new move in recent days according to transfer news delivered by ManchesterEveningNews this past Thursday. According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have already signed three new teenagers for the youth system this year and now the club has added Swedish teenage international Begger to the youth system. As fascinating as this signing is in the level of impact the teenager Begger will have in the clubs youth system, the fans will be much more concerned on which player will be joining in the senior level. While the clubs three new additional signed youth players will be a welcome addition to the clubs youth systems manager Nicky Butt, Manchester United fans will be much more excited to hear the news of who Jose Mourinho’s last signing will be before the transfer market closes in less than two weeks from today. As Manchester United fans might have already observed, there has been a lot of speculations as to who Manchester United's last signing could be, from Toby Alderweild, Harry McGuire or ( in a more impossible buy for the Red Devils heading towards the end of the transfer window Manchester United had been linked with) a move for Barcelona’s want away center back Yarri Mina.

Columbian defender Yarri Mina was thought to be the final realistic player who might possibly be signed by Manchester United this summer and the Manchester United fans appeared to be not necessarily thrilled at the possibility of the club signing the Columbian defender this transfer window. Priced at £36 million which will essentially cost the club £40 million after taxes. The tall Columbian center back Mina has been judged by Manchester United as lacking the level of quality demanded from Manchester United players and should the Red Devils put pen to paper on signing Yarry Mina, the player would not signal any progress made by the club and will, in fact, be seen as a player that will only maintain the same level of quality Manchester United already have in their Backline instead of improving the teams defensive quality next season. At 23 years old with the cheap price tag of 40 million, the acquisition of Mina with his tall, physical,  attributes might not have been the worst signing in the world. Does Manchester United deserve better players in terms of quality? Absolutely! But at the moment, Manchester United's current manager values physical players over everything else and physicality is what players such as Yarry Mina, Harry McGuire, and Toby Alderweild have. Which makes these players a prime target for Manchester United.

Finally, is Yarry Mina really the last resort for Manchester United? With so many fans calling in, last season, on football talk shows to make their voices heard about their lack of trust in Manchester United's back line, with the exception of Eric Baily, how will the addition of Yarry Mina be seen as an improvement to Manchester United's defense?  Honestly, if Yarry Mina were to be added to Manchester United’s squad, the Columbian will not make any change in the defense. The addition might not have improved Manchester United's defensive quality but what Mina would have brought to the club should Mina had signed for Manchester United is strength and the advantage of winning air balls. That is the sought of player Manchester United need to partner Eric Bailey at the defence, should Manchester United miss out on signing a defender this summer and the clubs defensive strength deficiency ends up costing the club a trophy this upcoming season, Manchester United might look back on not signing a defender as the source of their downfall.
