ED WOODWARD OR MOURINHO. WHO IS TO BLAME FOR MANCHESTER UNITED'S RECENT SUCCESS DROUGHT ?

Who is really to blame for Manchester United's recent lack of Trophies, Mourinho or the club owners the Ed Woodward? It`s been close to three years since Manchester United won a major trophy. In fact, another to determine which exact season Manchester United ended their trophy clams, you will have to trace all the way back to Sir Alex Fergusons final season as Manchester United manager to witness the last time Manchester United were crowned Premier League champions. That is over six years ago and ever since then, Manchester United have gone on a typical major Trophy drought. Failing to win any major trophy since the departure of the clubs iconic manager Sir Alex Ferguson. So who is to blame for the clubs current trophy drought: Mourinho or Ed Woodward? This is the current dilemma that faces Manchester United fans: the question of who is to really blame for the clubs current lack of Trophies?

Frankly, Manchester United fans seem to be stuck in limbo with finding an answer. Some fans say Mourinho is to blame because the Portuguese manager was handed the funds to acquire his transfer targets and make sure that the Manchester United team is prepared, strong enough to mount a completely successful Trophy challenge. But there is some aspect to consider before the Manchester United fans throw the blame completely on Mourinho for that lackluster perform from the Red Devils during the early stages of the season so far.   The question that needs to be answered a little bit is when did Ed Woodward and the Manchester United board of directors release the finances to support Mourinho's transfer target? Was the release date early or late? For anyone who had been keeping of Manchester United activities this past summer, news had broken at least one month prior to the transfer windows officially open that Ed Woodward had released the transfer budget worth around £200 million to spend before the transfer market ends. That is a lot of money and a lot of time for the manager to invest the money into building a solid strategy that will make the current 2018-2019 season a definite success for Manchester United. So far for Mourinho at the early stage, the season is not completed according to plan. There is still a long way to go in the season but if Mourinho is really committed to winning trophies as a Manchester United manager, then he has to get back to being the never say die Mourinho of the past and get on the same page with his players rather than his current “my way or the high way” he appears to be on at the moment.

Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku, Fred, Nemanja Matic e.t.c. honestly, Mourinho has a good number of quality players to work with if the Manchester United is completely invested in winning the Premier League and Champions League Trophy this season but the concern that has made way into the minds of a number of Manchester United fans is does Mourinho, himself, believe that he can battle teams such as Manchester City, Barcelona or Bayern Munich for major trophies and come out victorious? Mourinho choice of recent football strategy seems to suggest otherwise. Resignation in the manager's voice during most interviews as Manchester United manager, all possibly pointing to signs that Mourinho might not fully believe his team is good enough. Something is happening behind closed doors that has Mourinho to have possibly lost that giant spark, enormous confidence, and a dash of arrogance that makes Mourinho such a special manager.  These qualities are what makes Mourinho who he is and if Mourinho is no longer the same winning manager then Manchester United have to ask: If the same Mourinho is not the current man standing before us, Who is the current manager of Manchester United?

However, a manager is only as good as the board of directors backing the manager. Which begs the question: does Mourinho have the full support of the Manchester United owner? The signs and rumors appear to point to no. By now the news of Mourinho and the Manchester Owners not being on the same page might not arrive as a shock to Manchester United fans who have witness Ed Woodwards slight refusal to fully back Mourinho during this, recently, past transfer window. So, will assume that the possible friction between Mourinho and Manchester United owner might be a sign of the owners ready to welcome a change in management next season? if a change of managers is where the club is heading next season, why would Mourinho come out in one of his recent conferences and assure everyone that he and Ed Woodward are on the same page moving forward?

Someone has to stand up and take responsibility for current lack of success Manchester United is currently stuck on. The lack of success currently stuck on a repetitive time loop has to come to end sooner than later because the result will be continuous distress, the continuous disappointment for Mourinho and the Manchester United fans while the owners of the club continue to maximize profits made from ticket sales and worldwide merchandise sales. The fans are not completely voiceless or completely handicap. If the fans have truly had enough and if the fans are truly adamant in seeing Manchester United return to glory immediately, the fans can take action of demanding Mourinho plays quality attacking football for most of the current season or threating to reduce ticket sales significantly should Mourinho remain manager and refuse to change his style of football.

Manchester United fans are never helpless, Manchester United fans are certainly never voiceless. Manchester United can not sit back and allow themselves to be turned into a club whose glory days fades away into the shadows. The Red Devils have the tools any club needs to be Champions once again but trophies will not be won if two of the clubs most important men Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward are not enthusiastic or hungry for success. Manchester United welcome Wolverhampton to Old Trafford this weekend, Wolverhampton Wanderers have had an impressive start this season and will not be an easy opponent but this is one of a number of upcoming matches Manchester United can not afford to pass up victories if Manchester United truly desire to grasp one or two trophies at the end of the current season.
