          Considering how dominant a team Pep Guardiola's men have become in the last two seasons, expecting this sought of news occupying the front pages of multiple newspapers across the globe should not have come as a shock to newspaper readers who read through the sports section two weeks ago. However, how many newspapers will quickly disappear from the roadside benders shelves if next weeks headlines read:



Manchester United drop points at home to Crystal Palace?





Will  Jose Mourinho still be the man in charge come January 2019? Will Manchester United decide to move on from Alexis Sanchez and lots of other Manchester United players? A match against Crystal Palace might appear to be one match spectators will consider as an easy three points, however, with Manchester United coming off a gut-wrenching Derby defeat, plus last weeks, stressful, international break, three points tonight might not be as certain as anyone will expect for Manchester United.




  
   A match scheduled against a club currently sitting at the 18th spot in the Premier League table will be enough to make any one of the Premier Leagues current top 5 clubs to relish and look forward to. Three-point almost guaranteed even before the starting whistle? Seriously? which one of the current top 5 premier league club would not want to be in Manchester United shoes heading into this weekends match. But surely Manchester United cannot be fooled into letting their guard down under the misguided principle that Roy Hudsons side is sitting in a position very close to the Premier League tables religation zone.






To be honest, the way the two clubs have performed from the start of the season all the way until this late November to December period in this season, the gap between the position the two clubs currently occupy in the Premier League table, not to mention the countless dominance Manchester United have held over the course of the historical meetings between Manchester United and Crystal Palace, Saturdays`match appears to have Manchester United as the odds-on favorite to emerge victoriously. Judging from the gap which clearly exists between both clubs performance this season, not to mention the undeniable difference in the position both clubs currently hold in the Premier League, there should be little doubt that Manchester United will be victorious this weekend. Right?






   When discussions are held about the level of threats both teams pose on each other when both face up against each other, there is little doubt that Manchester United hold the bigger potential of winning the match come this Saturday. Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba are just some of the players in form at this point in the season whom will relish the opportunity to get at Palace this Saturday and control the game from start to finish and leave Old Trafford with three points in hand. However, Crystal Palace is no slouch team themselves. Under Manager Roy Hudson, The Eagles have proven, over the last five years at least, to have the right amount of quality any club needs to simply remain in the Premier League by avoiding the relegation zone. Roy Hudson is a fighting manager and there will be little doubt that Palace is coming to Old Trafford this Saturday no to lay down and submit but to put up a fight.  








    Crystal Palace status at this point in the season can best be described as an ok season at best right now. The Eagles are sitting at the 16th spot in the Premier League table, just two places below the relegation zone with just 12 games played in the early stage of this seasons Premier League campaign. Honestly, the outcome of tonight's match is clearly not standing in favor of the Eagles and considering that Crystal Palace golden boy, Wilfred Zaha, might still miss a place in his teams starting IX, Manchester United remains complete favorites to take all 3 points to come the sound of the final whistle this Saturday.







Manchester United have had a clear upper hand during the historical meetings between the Red Devils and Crystal Palace. Ten victories and one draw in the last 11 consecutive makes an almost impossible scenario to expect nothing less than a convincing victory from Manchester United. However, should you factor in Manchester United's unsteady performance this so far this season, plus the possibility of one Paul Pogba, who has been the heart and soul of Manchester United's creativity, likely to miss this weekend match, you might be tempted to question if there is any chance Manchester United might actually relinquish a point or more to Palace this weekend?






 The international break which started on the week of November 11 and lasted until November 17, 2018, brought along some notable moments for Manchester United football club. The biggest of them all being the anticipated final appearance of Wayne Rooney for Englands national team. Rooney, now 33, made the headlines in more ways than one last week as the former Manchester United captain returned to England squad to captain his English side for an anticipated final time during England's international friendly against the USA last week. Naturally, the Wayne Rooney- England story relates back to Manchester United because of obvious historical ties between Manchester United and Wayne Rooney. However, the main story which will be of higher interest to Manchester United community will be the injuries still sustained by midfielder Paul Pogba (thigh), the recently sidelined Manchester United pair Anthony Martial (groin) and Victor Lindelof both whom recently joined Manchester United's injury List.






     Lastly, even with the recent addition of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba into Manchester United's injury list, Manchester United should have enough ammunition to secure a victory against Crystal Palace this weekend. Mourinho must understand the importance of a victory this weekend. Victory against Crystal Palace this weekend will help reenergize the positive ora surrounding Manchester United. So expecting nothing less than a tactfully, controlled, game leading to a solid victory for Manchester United this weekend at Old Trafford should be on the agenda for Premier League viewers this weekend.
