MANCHESTER UNITED APPEAR TO HAVE TAKEN AN EARLY START IN TRANSFER ACTIVITIES

The sight of melting snow in the first week of April is usually the signal of the start of spring but in the world of football, April is the month on which the competition really kicks into overdrive especially around the realm of the English Premier League.

Battle four the top four positions, as well as the battle for teams around the bottom of the Premier League table, really jostle to see which team qualifies for the UEFA Champions League and which teams avoid relegation this season.  While the Premier League and the ever exciting UEFA Champions League is expected to have a spectacular ride to the season, one aspect of the spring and summer season which continues to grab massive interests around the world of football is the highly intoxicating European transfer window.

Yes, the always intriguing Summer Transfer window almost upon us and as such, the normal expectation is that football television analysts and newspaper articles start to run stories on possible transfer businesses Manchester United football club will be embarking on this summer. For the most part, the news surrounding Manchester United have largely been restricted to the events happening before matches in terms of pre-match press conferences, post-match press conference and match analysis from various pundits. While Manchester United fans, Manchester United players, Manchester United football club, in general, will continue to welcome the minor escape from any major discussions concerning the Transfer window, there are still some papers whom have occasionally produced articles that sparks interests from Manchester United fans and at the same time the papers portray the possibility of Manchester United already getting a head start on their transfer business before the transfer window officially opens.

As most Manchester United supporters  might already be aware of, through the month of February running all the way through the month of March, Manchester United has been linked with an interesting swap deal which involves Manchester United trading the clubs main striker Romelu Lukaku for Italian side Inter Milan striker Mario Icardi whom is always equipped with multiple qualities on the football pitch as well. The swap transfer deal was supposedly expected to benefit both clubs due to the assumption that both players have failed to deliver on the expected level for both clubs, talks concerning the conclusion of the transfer deal have since stalled as progress reports seem to deliver suggestions of both clubs settling on sticking with their respective center forward for the time being.

The biggest news in the transfer rumor mill this week is the strong suggestion of some level of disagreement between Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer and the Manchester United executive director Ed Woodward as reported suggestions of the fall out seem to circulate on both parties failing to come to an agreement regarding the clubs summer transfer budget.  The idea of Manchester United not settled on an allocated budget for the summer will certainly not be received well by the Manchester United supporters whom will be somewhat eager to see their club plans on spending this summer in order to strengthen Manchester United’s chances for success.  After seeing Manchester United struggle to climb to the pinnacle of the Premier table once again this season the major focal point for Manchester United heading close to the transfer window was the question of how much transfer funds will Ole Gunner Solskjaer be allowed to spend this summer?

Last season under Jose Mourinho’s tenure, Manchester United saw a budget allocation of around 200 million for Jose Mourinho which saw the Portuguese Manager make little to no actual investment returns to the club in terms of winning major trophies or securing a top 4 finish in the Premier League table. Considering the potential 200 million pound loss experienced by Manchester United due to the lack of results delivered by Manchester United’s most recent past managers, the natural reaction of the Manchester United board in regards to the transfer market will rightfully be to exert caution and enforce some level of financial cap moving on to the 2019 summer transfer window. Coming towards the end of the current season and heading into the 2019 summer transfer window a degree of uncertainty has been created around Manchester United football club on the decision of exactly how much budget should be allocated to Ole Gunner Solskjaer expenses throughout the 2019 summer transfer window.

As earlier noted, Manchester United were already involved in a transfer business deal that should the club had successfully witnessed the deal go through Ole Gunner Solskjaer would have witnessed his current number striker Romelu Lukaku depart for Italian side Inter Milan and Manchester United would have in return received the talented Mario Icardi for the next three season both on free transfer. Therefore, while the deal will have undoubtedly resulted to interesting responses by the Manchester United community, the deal would have had no effect on Ole Gunner Solskjaer upcoming unstated transfer fund.  Which begs the question of how much exactly Ole Gunner Solskjaer will be given and how much exactly Ole Gunner Solskjaer will be sufficient enough in the mind of Ole Gunner Solskjaer? Solskjaer rightfully has every reason to enact some degree of stubbornness on his financial stance towards the transfer window as the Norwegian manager rightfully feels the club has what it takes to win the Premier League and conquer Europe.

However, in order to succeed, the club must enroll the names of one or two more top class players into the already star studded Manchester United roster before the start of next season.
