MANCHESTER UNITED CLOSE IN ON SIGNING TWO SUMMER TARGETS

There is no rest for the club on the rebuild it seems. Every new day is an opportunity to scout for talented players and every new day is another opportunity to conclude a deal that has been ongoing a couple of months in advance. 

To postpone any ongoing talks of a deal for a player can result in an opportunity for another football club coming in, taking over on negotiation talks and signing the player as quickly as possible. The truth is that for any club in the process of negotiating to sign a player who plays such an important role in another club the negotiation process must be handled delicately and the process possibly starts months in advance on the official opening of the 2019 summer transfer window. As talks between both clubs grow the likelihood of the negotiation moving into and concluding in the transfer window turns into a reality and that appears to be the case in Manchester United's negotiation with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon over midfielder Bruno Fernandes. 

The news about Manchester United's pursuit for Bruno Fernandes hit the tabloids back in the month of March 2019 with rumors circulating about Ole Gunner Solskjaer plan to rebuild Manchester United in preparation for next season. Ever since then, lots of talks have linked big-name players such as Piere-Emrik Aubamiyang, Neymar and Paulo Dybala with a move to Manchester United this summer. Most of these rumors eventually died down but the one player whose name has continued to be linked with a move to Manchester United continues to be Bruno Fernandes. As we enter the midway point of the month of July Manchester United's move for Bruno Fernandes looks to have gone from possibility to eventuality as the Red Devils close in Sporting Lisbon's demands. 




Back in the month, the news of Manchester United signing the Portuguese midfielder appeared to be nothing more than a mere rumor after Manchester United's fierce rivals Manchester City were picked as the odds-on clear favorites to sign the Portuguese midfielder. Manchester City had come off the success they achieved this past season by making a terrific run through not only lifting the Premier League trophy once again but also successfully making their way all the way through to the quarter-final stage of the UEFA Champions League competition, the reason why the Blue side of Manchester was considered the favorable destination for Bruno Fernandes becomes all so apparent.  

However, after recent developments transpiring within the 2019 summer calendar such as Manchester City reportedly handed a transfer ban and Manchester United directing a 200 million worth of investment in the transfer window, Manchester United have now emerged as number one favorites to sign Bruno Fernandes during the 2019 summer transfer window. According to tabloids from England and other various sources, Manchester City football club who were the top favorites to sign the Portuguese midfielder has pulled out of the race to sign Bruno Fernandez because of the recent FA transfer ban handed to Manchester City this summer. According to the news coming out of Manchester, Manchester City had overspent a major part of their income in the past year on bringing players into the Ethihad and not letting the same level of players leave the club from the summer of 2018 up until the 2019 January transfer window. As such, Manchester City has been rumored to be banned from this summer transfer activities and as such the ban is expected to halt Manchester Citys exploits in the 2019 summer window providing other clubs in Europe with the opportunity to sign players ahead of Manchester City this summer. This plays a huge part in the Bruno Fernandes transfer saga because Manchester City being the favorites to sign the Portuguese center midfielder this summer now handed a transfer window ban this summer, the ban automatically put the second favorite team which is Manchester United on top as the favorites to sign Bruno Fernandes this summer. 

So far there has not been any concrete news regarding the potential of Manchester United's recent ability to meet Sporting Lisbon's 70 million asking prices. However, the possible reason for the delay regarding the Bruno Fernandes is understood to be as a result of Manchester United trying to reduce the amount of money demanded from 70 million to a possible 65 million. Manchester United are aware of the strong possibility of completing an 85 million transfer deal for current Leicester City defender Harry McGuire before the end of the month of July, Manchester United appear to be strongly attempting complete the double scoop of Harry McGuire and Bruno Fernandes by the end of the month of July with the goal of having a complete squad trained and familiar with each other before the start of the 2019/20 campaign. Should Manchester United successfully sign the duo of Harry McGuire and Bruno Fernandes before the 2019 summer transfer window closes in the month of September, Manchester United might not be favorites to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the 2019/20 season. However, with a little more movement in the transfer window, Manchester United should have a team capable of challenging for the Premier League and possibly the UEFA Champions League trophies next season. Ole Gunner Solskjaer continues to be linked with signing a couple more players such as Christian Eriksen but for the moment, Manchester United appear to be focused on the project of completing the deal for the two incoming players Bruno Fernandes and Harry McGuire as well as keeping superstar Paul Pogba in the club for another season.  

Should Manchester United actually come to an agreement with the clubs ace midfielder to commit yet one or two more seasons to Manchester United with the club completing both current outstanding transfer deals for Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon and Harry Mcguire from Leicester City, Manchester United will have gone a long way in establishing themselves as trophy contenders for next season So far, Manchester United are leading the race to sign both stars with the news of a successful negotiation expected to be delivered before the month of August.
