MANCHESTER UNITED TURMOIL ALMOST OVER OR STILL PROCEEDING ?

First the media ramps of the pressure on Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaers current setback on Manchester United's road to success by claiming that the Manchester United might not have what it takes to lead a big club such as Manchester United to victory.

Then the situation gets even worse as Old Trafford continue to concern themselves about the recent shortage of players due to the recent sale of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, two former Manchester United players whom despite their lack of record-breaking goal scoring statistics at Manchester United, the few consistent treats that came with having these two players on the Manchester United players were that both players could drag the opponents attention to themselves allowing their Manchester United teammate more time and space to decide on ways to put the ball in the back of the opponents net.

With Manchester United officially making their peace with the reality that the option of having both Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku as extra talent that adds a little more potential quality on the pitch for Manchester United is gone, Manchester United have carried on for the season by attempting to fill the void left by lack of game-changing players by filling the void with promoting a few youth players from the Manchester United youth academy into the Manchester United first team.

Has the Manchester United managers decision during the early part of the season proven to be the right decision or will Manchester United face rough roads ahead as the current season progresses? According to retired footballer Garry Sutton, disaster further into the current season seems to be the exact result awaiting Manchester United further down the line in the current season due to the clubs decision to pull the trigger on the sale of ex-Manchester United duo Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku. As per his interview with popular website the Manchester Evening News, Chris Sutton had this to say in regards to the departure of Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United :

"United haven’t got the players to get [back into the top four]," I  can’t believe they let Alexis Sanchez go. They had already sold Romelu Lukaku and signed no replacement, so they were already light upfront.
"I fear Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has cut his nose off to spite his face. He’s now relying on Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, maybe even 17-year-old Mason Greenwood to do a job upfront.
Sutton, who helped fire Blackburn to the league title, added: "I’m not so sure Solskjaer will [make it until the end of the season).
(Chris Sutton, Manchester Evening News. September 5, 2019.)

While most Manchester United fans have been quick to jump to the aid of the Manchester United manager pointing out the fact that the performance level of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku have maintained a subpar level since the duo joined Manchester United which is a good enough reason to cut ties with the duo, the fact remains that Chris Sutton's point of Manchester United not having enough players in their team to afford the luxury of selling players is indeed very logical.

Manchester United are short in terms of the number of talented players necessary to succeed in modern football especially because the Football club was unable to make enough necessary improvements by adding more talented players needed in their squad during the 2019 summer transfer window. So, yes, Manchester United fans might grumble, Manchester United fans will challenge Chris Hutton's comments as expected from passionate fans ready to defend the honor of their beloved football club.

However, analyzing Chris Hutton's comments from an unbiased standpoint, the former Blackburn player made some really good points on his criticism of the actions of manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer recent decisions. The Premier League, as well as other major competition around Europe, have proven to be incredibly difficult competitions to conquer. Only some of the strongest, most well-rounded teams have been able to climb both mountains called the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League and come back down as champions of both competitions.

Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer himself is one of the few people who has experienced the level of difficulty faced by teams who have successfully won both competitions in the same season with Ole Gunner Solskjaer winning both competitions as a Manchester United player under the tenure of legendary manager sir Alex Ferguson. Therefore, for Ole Gunner Solskjaer to think that getting rid of two players with so much senior experience and promote just two youth players to a team that continues to lack enough quality even before the departure of both Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku continues to paint Manchester United as a team ready to struggle once again this season with no reward for their efforts come end of the season.

In defense of the manchester United manager, Solskjaer was not given much of choice when the decision of keeping players such as Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Valencia and other players whom recently departed from Manchester United football club. Before the appointment of Ole Gunner Solskjaer, Manchester United was a club which had crumbled and was on its way to continue crumbling unless drastic measures were taken. In the eyes of the new manager, the best option to take was to set a standard to be met by every Manchester United player. Failure to meet the criteria meant hanging up your boots as a Manchester United player.

The decision to trim down the number of players on the club might appear drastic and might appear to be a decision at a dangerous period in the season but time will tell if the decision was the right one.
