MANCHESTER UNITED POISED TO FACE MINOR COMPLICATED DILEMMA IN THE MONTH OF DECEMBER

December 7 has suddenly gone from just another regular day to potential a very important date in football. Well, the date might not be important to any football club but to Manchester United football club, December 7, 2019, might just turn out to be the date that the level of football played by Manchester United rise from its current impressive level to the level that gets the fans out of their seats.

For the past two months, the Red Devils have maintained a high, decent yet impressive, run of form gathering a record of 11 matches and only two losses in all competitions. While a lot of sports analysts and sports statisticians have written the clubs current subtle climb towards the top 4 places of the Premier League as a short stint that will eventually deteriorate before the end of the season, the analysts have failed to account for the fact that Manchester United have been in fine form without the presence of one of the teams most creative and influential player in Paul Pogba. Granted players such as Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, Anthony Martial, and Scott McTominar have all stepped up and influenced Manchester United style of play positively in the past two months. However, Paul Pogba appears to be the X-factor whose presence in the field raises Manchester United's establishes a balance on the team's level of performance.

While Manchester United had originally estimated Paul Pogba return to be in December the news gotten from Manchester United this month has confirmed that the French Midfield is now officially set to return to action for Manchester United on December 7, 2019. While the news of Paul Pogba eminent return to the starting XI is indeed a positive one there is still the minor issue of how Paul Pogba`s return will affect Ole Gunner Solskjaers' efficient game plan? Which player gets dropped from the starting line up to the bench?

From all indications of Manchester United's recent performance in the past month or two with Paul Pogba out of action, a strong debate can be had that Manchester United has performed better without the presence of the French midfielder in the center of the park for Manchester United. While the mere idea of Manchester United striving towards success without the presence of Paul Pogba is an idea strongly frowned upon in the major Stratford area in England, the statistics and results do not lie.

Three loses, four draws and three victories recorded in the last 10 matches for Manchester United puts Ole Gunner Solskjaers team back in a somewhat good position of finishing the season in the top 5 or possibly in the top 4 of the Premier League table. The question regarding Paul Pogbas return is not the level of improvement Manchester United will have after the French central midfielder reasserts himself in the starting XI, without a doubt Manchester United will perform even better than the team already is with a player of Paul Pogbas caliber back in the starting XI, the better question is which of the current trio of center midfielders gets dropped to the bench?

For the past two months, Manchester United has been striving to a respectable level on the field with the partnership Fred Rodriguez, Scott Mctominar and Andreas Perera showing high and high control over what happens in the midfield. So far from the start of the month of October heading all the way down to the month of November Manchester United have only conceded three losses in nine matches in all competition which undoubtedly speaks volumes to the level of improvement the three players Scott Mctominar, Fred Rodriguez and Andreas Perera have instilled in their performance on the field. While the last two weeks of November will provide the trio of Scott Mctominar, Fred Rodriguez and Andreas Perera with a short extra period of opportunity to play together in the starting line up, the anticipated return of Paul Pogba during the month of December 2019 will certainly present a little bit of a tough decision making on Ole Gunner Solskjaer part regarding which player makes the starting line up and which player is left on the bench.

Come out with your best weapon is a strategy that is hardly frowned upon in modern football because the strategy leads to breaking down or at least weakening the opponents' defense during the first half of a match which allows the second half substitutions to come into the match and seal the victory. While there might still be a few question regarding just which players fit the bill for Manchester United's best starting XI this season, even if the current Manchester United really does not provide that many options to choose from as far as the real term top quality is concerned, there is no doubt that midfielder Paul Pogba makes the top three on the list of players to be found on Manchester United's best starting XI this season. With the middle of the season around the corner, the month of December will be the perfect time range expected for Manchester United to turn their performance boosters on and really put the pressure on the top four teams.

With Paul Pogba expected to make his return to Manchester United starting XI what better way to mark the french center midfielders return than for Manchester United to turn up the heat on the Premier Leagues top four teams in December 2019. Undoubtedly the return of Paul Pogba in Manchester United starting XI will lead to more positive performance and positive results for Solskjaer and his squad this season. However, Pogba`s return might cause a disruption in Manchester United's current, stable, team dynamic on the pitch and the solutions to be provided by Solskjaer will certainly be interesting to see.
