MANCHESTER UNITED YET TO FULLY RESOLVE CONCERNING STATISTIC FACING THE FOOTBALL CLUB

.

Will Manchester United be able to dispatch a team currently sitting a few feet below Manchester United in the Premier League table? The better question should be can Manchester United be able to defeat a team currently sitting in 12th place in the Premier League table?

Questions such as this will never have made the light of day in the past couple of days as Manchester United appear to have reenergized his team to step up to the big stage and perform to the standards worthy of any Manchester United team. Much to the delight of a large number of Manchester United fans, the demand to be better on the pitch has been answered by the current Manchester United squad as the Red Devils appear to have elevated their performance level on the pitch and with a respectable level of success on the pitch becoming the outcome of Ole Gunner Solskjaer new high tempo attacking side.

But while Manchester United have successfully addressed
the problem of attacking tempo faced by the team, Manchester United have unwillingly exposed another fault in the style of play enforced by Solskjaer side that is yet to be addressed, shots on target.

The words sound ridiculous to associate with a team who has made a rapid climb to the top six of the Premier League table and a side who have now placed themselves two steps away from claiming a spot in the top 4 of the Premier League table but reality remains that Manchester United shots on goal margin remain a situation that is yet to be resolved but must be resolved if Manchester United intend to make the race for a spot in the top 4 of the Premier League table a little less hard on themselves for what remains of the current season.

This is the simple truth for Manchester United more shots on target will lead to more goals and as the middle of the season dawns upon lovers of the English Premier League game and lovers of the Europa League competition, careful analysis of Manchester United shots per game compared to the shots on targets registered by Manchester United might show some less impressive statistics Manchester United might be wise to take note of and improve before the end of the 2019/20 season.

Looking back at some of the big games Manchester United have partaking in and the excellent results the Red Devils have accumulated against the big clubs so far this season, Manchester United appear to dawn the look of a team that is a force to be reckoned with in terms of just how good Ole Gunner Solskjaer has built his team to withstand big teams this season.

In the past three months, Manchester United has encountered the top four teams of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City at least once in the current season and that is not even the best part. Out of all six encounters with teams currently in this season top four spots in the Premier League table Manchester United have successfully held their ground and drawn two matches while establishing four massive victories against top teams in the Premier League table.

While these results are indeed impressive, the question to be addressed next should subsequently be why is Manchester United currently dangling outside the top 4 of the current Premier League table? The answer lies in the level of results Manchester United have gathered during the current 2019/20 season against teams sitting outside the top 4 spots of the Premier League table.

Before we take a look at the results against Premier League teams outside the top four spots of the Premier League table, let’s take a look at just how Manchester United have performed against the current teams sitting at the top 4 spots of the Premier League table. Victories and stalemates against Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool has definitely placed Manchester United in the minds of a number Premier League analysts as the team that should in one of the top four spots of the Premier League table but the expectations placed on Manchester United's shoulders of making top four this season continues to be derailed by Manchester United inability to secure regular victories against teams outside the current top four teams of the Premier League table.

Stalemates and losses to teams such West Ham, Bournemouth, Shelfield United, and Aston Villa have left Manchester United outside the top four of the Premier League table but with the second half of the Premier League season yet to be played, Manchester United still holds the opportunity to make top four of the Premier League table.

Judging from recent reactions received from Manchester United fans, this level of inconsistency appears to be unacceptable and appears to grow increasingly frustrating as the season progresses. Not good enough for a top-four team and Manchester United simply need to do better in keeping a positive record against the so-called “smaller teams” in the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Finally, here are some statistics about Manchester United so far in the 2019/20 season that Premier League lovers might find interesting as the mid-way point of the current season prepares to begin. In the past ten matches in all competition which Manchester United have played this season, Ole Gunner Solskjaer men have accumulated a shot ratio of %53 just barely placing their shot accuracy past the 50 percent mark. What this suggests is that Manchester United is creating goal-scoring opportunities but some Manchester United players just continue to lose control of their shooting boots as the season progresses.

Shooting accuracy while slightly less emphasized in the modern game of football is such an important to any team aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season because the decision-maker between a 4th place spot and a 5th place spot in this seasons Premier League table might come down to scoring a single goal at the dying moments of a match.

Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has done a fantastic job in improving the quality of play Manchester United continue to enforce on the field during the current season but Manchester United might have to put in a little more effort on the training ground to improve the teams shot accuracy and subsequently improving the teams goals per game ratio to increase the tempo in the pursuit of a spot in the top 4 spots in the Premier League table this season.
