MANCHESTER UNITED TO STRENGTHEN IN JANUARY OR WAIT UNTIL SUMMER 2020 TO ENGAGE IN MAJOR BUSINESS DURING THE TRANSFER WINDOW?

Which Manchester United player will be leaving Old Trafford this January and which new player, if any, will Manchester United sign this January? 



The Red Devils continue to put together major plans of building an even stronger team worthy of being called worthy Premier League Champions and even raising the bar a step further by building a team that can subsequently lift the UEFA Champions League trophy shortly as well.  









Halfway into the course of the current season, manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has been able to improve the performance level of the entire Manchester United team. From a shaky 10th place team two seasons ago into a well rounded 5th place team still contending for 4th spot in the Premier League and occasionally displaying some quality football on the pitch and finding the back of the net in the process. 








Improvements have certainly been contagious amongst the Manchester United team this season. From the improved level of play received from recent academy graduates promoted to the improved level of play received from the current senior players at Manchester United who had been struggling to find their feet. There is little doubt that Ole Gunner Solskjaers' strategies are pushing the Red Devils in the right direction. 
  



However, despite recent positive transformations observed in Manchester United performance on the pitch this season, the Red Devils still lack certain stability in their performance as the teams' records in the current mid-season period suggest.  













Will Solskjear strengthen his squad during the current 2020 January transfer window to enable Manchester United to inject a little bit more hunger to win, energy to overcome adversity and creativity to break down the toughest defense? Signs coming from Old Trafford suggest Manchester United are indeed ready to sign players if the players are available and if the right opportunity presents itself.  





As discussed in the last article released this past Wednesday, James Maddison appears to be the hot topic looming around Old Trafford this 2020 January transfer window but the talk of James Maddison's possible move to Manchester United appears destined to unravel in the 2020 summer transfer window. Despite the set back in the case of James Maddison's transfer move from Leicester to Manchester United, the set back does not necessarily imply that Manchester United are not already possibly engineering any transfer business in general during January 2020. 








In the case of Manchester United’s interest in signing the 23-year-old English forward from Coventry, England, rumors, and talks between both Manchester United and Leicester appear to have died down as Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer appears content with continuing his pursuit of the Premier Leagues top 4 with the current group of players found on the team roster. While a few reports and a few articles have suggested that the recent turn around by Manchester United from the pursuit of signing James Maddison automatically signals the complete end of a possible move to Manchester United for 23-year-old James Maddison.  




The expectation and signs received by TheManchesterUnitedWeekly suggests that Manchester United have not necessarily ended their interest in signing James Maddison completely but rather put the pursuit of signing the English midfielder on hold to focus on the current pursuit of ending the 2019/20 season in one of the top four spots of the Premier League table.  



Now let’s return to the biggest headline involving Manchester United and the summer transfer window which is of no surprise involving Paul Pogba. In case any football fan, especially Manchester United supporters missed the biggest comment delivered by Paul Pogbas super-agent Mino Riola, French midfielder Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United during the current 2020 January transfer window. While this is superb news for struggling Manchester United midfield, there is still the possibility of Paul Pogba leaving during the 2020 summer transfer window. So the question is Manchester United willing to lose Paul Pogba in the summer of 2020 and recent news coming from Manchester suggests? Maybe!  







Judging from the current signs gotten from the January transfer window activities done by Manchester United during the so far early parts of the January 2020 transfer window, Manchester United have yet to embark on any major transfer business that will result in Manchester United signing any new players during January 2020.  







During the recent injury absence of Manchester United's most creative midfielder Paul Pogba, Manchester United have witnessed the level of creativity in the midfielder drop to a stunning %45 making Manchester United's ability to break down opponents defense much more difficult to execute even when the presence of Paul Pogba is found in the heart of Manchester United's midfield.  









From recent evidence gotten from Manchester United midfield in recent matches, creativity has been had to come by without the presence of Paul Pogba which vindicates the recent choice of both Paul Pogba and Manchester United to retain Pogba as a Manchester United player the summer of 2020.  



However, retaining the services of Paul Pogba at Manchester United at least until the 2020 Summer transfer window opens up might not be enough to convert Manchester United's current 5th place status on the Premier League table into a spot on one of the top four spots in the Premier League available at the end of the current season.  





Manchester United need a spark of creativity without or without the presence of Paul Pogba at the heart of the central midfield and at the moment, Manchester United appear determined to stick with the current, blend, status of their midfield without the presence of the club’s ace french midfielder or the status piling the demand of having a creative midfield solely on the shoulders of Paul Pogba.  






Manchester United have unfortunately dropped enough points in this season's Premier League competition that the possibility of Manchester United claiming one of the top four spots in the Premier League table continues to rapidly fade away. Manchester United must sign a player with the quality of a Bruno Fernandes for example to reignite their top hopes but at the moment, signing a player seems very unlikely for Manchester United.
