MANCHESTER UNITED'S BUSSINESS IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW ALREADY SETTLED ?

The 2020 January transfer window has officially kicked off!

What an exciting time of the season this could potentially be for several football fans across the globe as different clubs in Europe and around Europe start to make a few minor improvements to their football club. The goal for January is simple, secure one or two signings this January to add a little more boost to each teams' level of performance as the 2019/20 season comes to a close.

In the English Premier League specifically, teams such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, even Wolverhampton all a few steps away from cashing in on the current transfer window and improving their squad before the end of the season, will Manchester United follow suit? The answer, No, unfortunately! As the situation unravels at Old Trafford, Manchester United is ready to hold on to the club's decision to finish the rest of the season with Manchester United's current group of players.

During one of the post-match press conference held by manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer in November 2019, the Norwegian manager was addressed with the question of how Manchester United intends to approach the January transfer window to which the manager replied with a statement that clarifies the Red Devils will ultimately not participate in the January transfer window.

The news will certainly have been received in a negative style by Manchester United affiliates or fans of the football club whom must have been hoping to see their team gain some much-needed performance boost through signing one or two quality midfielder able to impact a match positively. However, while a couple of other premier league clubs, as well as other football giants, will be busy completing a couple of deals this January, the dice have been cast and Manchester United will not be one of the teams that will be signing any new players this January At least that was what reportscoming out from Manchester late December 2019 indicated.

What will this mean for Manchester United?

Business as usual. The Red Devils have so far in the season taken 36 points out of a possible 63 points in the Premier League this season which, according to manager Ole Gunner Solskjear, the performance of the Manchester United team so far this season has impressed the Manchester United manager enough to make Ole Gunner Solskjaer decide to stick with his current group of players as they are at least until the 2020 summer transfer window. A decision that continues to leave a bitter taste in the tongues of most Manchester United fans.

Here is how the transfer situation is set to play out from now until the 2020 summer transfer window.
Manchester  United are currently certain to retain the service of Paul Pogba all the way until the rest of the season. However, as soon as the 2020 summer transfer window opens up, Paul Pogba will be expected to entertain contract talks with other clubs in Europe with some European giants such as Real Madrid and Juventus being the two leading clubs poised the sign the highly revered.

From all indication, Paul Pogba and Manchester United appear at the moment to have made peace with the idea that Manchester United have not been able to reach the level of an elite status football with Paul Pogba present at the club.

Climbing back to becoming one of the top four leading teams in English football which the Red Devils once was at this point in time was always the goal for both Manchester United and Paul Pogba has always been the goal at Old Trafford. However, consistent failure by Manchester United to deliver a minimum of Champions League football or failure by Manchester United to win the Premier League trophy once again in the last two years might just be the prompting factor that pushes the French midfielder to decide to search for his individual success on the field with another European football club in the summer of 2020.

The major talking of the upcoming 2020 summer transfer window might not be the possibility of Paul Pogba walking away from Manchester United and signing for another European club on a free transfer. The bigger issue Manchester United might have to face during the Summer transfer window might not be losing Paul Pogba but finding the right replacement midfielder who can have the same level of an impact Paul Pogba currently has in the Manchester United team.

At the moment, Manchester United continue to be linked with a hand full of midfielders more than likely to be signed by the football club this January with the likeliest of players to be signed being James Maddison.

However, as per earlier remarks on today's article, James Maddison is poised to more than likely end the current season as a Leicester City player before engineering a move to Manchester United during the 2020 summer transfer window. The January transfer window appears to be a rapid open and shut case for Manchester United with manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer presumably choosing to end the current season with the current group of players he has at his disposal.

Except for the possible, yet still questionable, arrival of midfielder Bruno Fernandes to Old Trafford this 2020 January transfer window, the Red Devils appear to be content in taking the option of waiting for the 2020 summer window to boost their team rather than making small improvements during the January transfer window.

Should Paul Pogba decide to leave Manchester United in the 2020 summer transfer window, current Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes  appears to be the direct replacement for the French midfielder this summer. There is still a high possibility of Paul Pogba remaining a Manchester United player past the 2020 summer transfer window but Manchester United appear to be resigned to waiting until the 2020 summer season to reach a decision on Paul Pogba.

62 million appears to be the standing offer on the table for Bruno Fernandes waiting for a decision to be made by Sporting Lisbon and at the moment Sporting Lisbon football club seems resigned on the decision of sanctioning the move to Manchester for Bruno Fernandes during the January transfer window much to the dismay of the Portuguese club.
