MANCHESTER UNITED WILL SPARK RUN TOWARDS THIS SEASONS PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE TOP FOUR SPOTS

The January transfer window is now in the past and each Premier League side has completed each business intended to be carried out in the January transfer window.

While the 2020 January transfer window turned out to be a moderately busy one considering the quiet history that the January transfer window has had in recent times, make no mistake about the situation, the January 2020 certainly brought about some very inspiring yet unexpected signings made by different teams in the Premier League.

What these signings completed by different teams in England appear to signal is while we have already witnessed yet another eye-catching season were the Premier League, in general, has lived up to its reputation of high expectation, Premier League fans might have every reason to fasten their seat belts as the Premier League looks set to conclude the 2019/20 season with nothing but high intensity, high-quality football all the way to the until April 2020.

With all the talk about high-intensity football scheduled to unfold after the current break in the Premier League schedule, this might be the right time to address the topic of where critiques, analysts and most importantly where Manchester United fans have the Red Devils pegged to finish the season.

With half the season now complete, Manchester United has witnessed a majority of their matches faced off against quite a handfull of the Premier League’s top sides. Tottenham, Chelsea, and Liverpool have all had at least one opportunity to test the resolve of Ole Gunner Solskjaers' side after which the conclusion has seen Manchester United continue to remain relevant in this season's pursuit of next seasons UEFA Champions League football.

With all three sides Chelsea, Tottenham, and Sheffield United all scheduled to play this week, Manchester United have the opportunity to close the gap between themselves and the fourth-place side, Chelsea, to at least 3 points as the race for the top four spots in the Premier League table continues.

Opportunities to capture a direct entry into next seasons elusive Champions League competition does not primarily hang on next week's big match against Chelsea. Should Manchester United fail to be victorious against Chelsea at Stanford Bridge on Monday, Ole Gunner will face a tougher test trying to secure Champions League football next season but this does not automatically remove Manchester United completely from the race for Champions League football next season.  Comparison between Manchester United's next few matches this season against the next few matches for current 4th and 5th place shows a sliver of a chance for the Red Devils to close the gap between themselves and the fourth-place side Chelsea.

Looking at Manchester United's next five games the Red Devils are scheduled to face Chelsea, Watford, Everton, Manchester City, and Tottenham. On the naked eye, any spectator or any analyst might be easily swayed to Pegg the Red Devils as a team that will possibly come out these next five games with nothing more than 5 points if Manchester United is lucky.

However, considering the new improvements Manchester United has made to their squad this January signing a top-quality midfielder in Bruno Fernandes and also signing an experienced Premier League goal-getter in Odion Ighalo plus considering the strong possibility that Manchester United will welcome back two of the squads top players if Manchester United were to secure 8 points out of the next available 15 points, will that be a game-changer in the race for the Premier Leagues top four?

Yes! Absolutely. As we slowly approach the end of the 2019/20 season, Manchester United have certainly experienced their fair share of roller coaster ride in terms of performances and maintaining a fully healthy squad but one achievement Manchester United can hold their head high on the clubs ability to constantly reignite their dream of ending the season on one of the top four spots in the Premier League table.

It's no secret that Manchester United has had the worst luck and the worst timing concerning injuries this season. Before October 2019, Manchester United witnessed their healthy team roaster make a reasonable run for the Premier League tabletop four spots which during the very early parts of the 2019/20 campaign was a run that had started to yield results for Ole Gunner Solskjaer side this season. With the presence of a complete healthy roaster, Manchester United had found a little bit of stability within its squad maintaining a healthy gap between and the top four teams in the Premier League table.

While there have been constant talks about most of Manchester United's ongoing struggles to secure Champions League football falling on the shoulders of Ole Gunner Solskjaers shoulders due to the managers inability to strengthen his team before the season, Manchester United have maintained a healthy distance between themselves and the Premier League tables top four spots which will most likely play a defining in Manchester United's current season especially with the Red Devils expected to have a healthy roster before the conclusion of the month.

So the big question is, putting the team's recent ability to stay relevant in the race for the Premier League tables top four despite facing injury trouble and the lack of squad dept before the recent January transfer window signing, has Ole Gunner Solskjaer truly failed to deliver in the true sense of the word?

The answer, yes Solskjaer has delivered to a certain extent. But with the level of expectation put on Manchester United teams shoulders not just from the Manchester United fans but also from the Board of Directors whom have made significant improvements during the last two transfer window, Manchester United might have to do more than a 5th place finish in the Premier League table for Ole Gunner Solskjaer to remain, club manager, next season.

With Manchester United expected to have a fully healthy squad for March and April, Manchester United’s target of securing a spot in the Premier League tabletop four spots this season appears to be a dream that just might turn into reality for the Red Devils at the end of the ongoing 2019/20 season.
