Words from current general manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer in response to a question thrown to the manager concerning what to expect from Manchester United when football returns this season as well as what to expect from Manchester United as we move forward into the football.  

 

 

 




As usual, expectations for Manchester United in terms of winning multiple trophies and regaining the recognition of being ranked as one of the top five best teams in the world continue to remain in the agenda of things to accomplish soon for Manchester United football club. So far, the Red Devils have successfully managed to pull themselves out of the shadow of being classified as former giants consistently on the rebuild to a team that is starting to show serious signs of returning to the top of the pile in European football. What will Ole Gunner Solskjaer's team look like next season? The future is still unclear but hear is the direction the club seems to be heading.  

 






 

Retention rather than rebuild seems to be the direction Manchester United will be heading for in the course of the 2020 summer season. Throughout the 2019 winter season and moving into the 2020 spring and summer season, rumors co continue to surface concerning the possibility of Manchester United football club making massive changes to Ole Gunner Solskjaers current team in terms of an overhaul change involving players such as Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, and even Paul Pogba (as surprising as that sounds)  players which the media and Manchester United fans have deemed ”not good enough” expected to be shown the door this summer to make room in Ole Gunner Solskjaer team for at least five new top-class signings expected by the Manchester United fan base. Clarifications have now been made by manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer regarding which direction the Red Devils will take this summer.  





“Good players can always play together:” direct quotes from manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer when asking if the current Manchester United team can co-exist well together particularly Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes who both seem to operate in the same position. The recent quote from Solskjaer continues to support the idea that Manchester United will not spend too much this summer and the club will rather spend time retaining and improving the current squad. An idea originally put forward by Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward.  

 

 

While the idea of Manchester United operating with such a dynamic combo of players such as Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Fred Rodrigues, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Scott McTominar, Andreas Perera and Jesse Lingard all operating in the midfield during different matches for Manchester United, a good number of Manchester United fans still harbor a strong belief that Manchester United should still consider parting ways with one or two current midfielders within manager Ole Gunner Solskjaers current squad and substituted for new players expected to be signed by Manchester United football club this summer. 









With young players who continue to show vast potential such as 26-year-old German international Janik Haberer of FC Freiburg of the German Bundesliga and of cause 20-year-old Jadon Sacho both scheduled to either become free agents or potential targets for Manchester United football club, this summer could still see the Red Devils secure one big signing such as Jadon Sancho or one potential diamond in the rough such as Janik Haberer before the start of the 2020/21 season. 

 

 

 

 

Sign new players during the 2020 Summer season. This seems to be the general demand coming from the Manchester United fans despite the level of progress manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer appears to have achieved so far with the current Manchester United team. Manchester United fans appear to be unsatisfied with the current state of the squad despite Ole Gunner Solskjaer squad showing massive improvements compared to the state the Manchester United team was one season ago. 



The Red Devils finished 6TH place last season despite the lack of sufficient quality provided for Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer in terms of player personnel found in Manchester United team roaster last season. With the idea of reaching such levels of 6th spot in the premier league last season despite the lack of sufficient depth in the quality of the squad, the idea of achieving high than 5th spot in the Premier League table this season without investing immensely towards the upcoming 2020 Summer transfer window considering the few recent signings the Red Devils have made which have improved Ole Gunner Solskjaer squad within the last two transfer windows suddenly becomes an understandable goal for Manchester United football club this year. 

  




 

 

 

 

According to recent signs seen from the Manchester United fan base over the past three to four months at least, forfeiting the chance to secure at least one signing during the 2020 summer transfer window for Manchester United will not be an option that will sit too well with the fan base. Manchester United fans seem to have already estimated the players whom they see as the right fit in terms of signings to be made this summer by Manchester United football club and all signs point to Jadon Sancho being the number one choice for Manchester United fan base. 




The Red Army, as Manchester United are popularly known as have identified Borrusia Durtmonds right-winger as the number one pick for signings to be made this summer and according to reports received this week, the board of directors at Manchester United appear eager to deliver the goods by making Jadon Sancho their top and possibly only target this 2020 summer season.    

 

 



The acquisition of Jadon Sancho services alone this summer might not be the only plan Manchester United had coming into the 2020 summer transfer window especially with players such as James Maddison of Leicester City displaying some good football at the moment. However, with Jadon Sancho being the top target this summer for some of Europe's elite club, should Manchester United secure the services of the English winger, Manchester United fan base might be content with just Jadon Sancho this summer.
