Is Solskjaer lacking the right qualification to take Manchester United back to the top?

Six years since Manchester United last won a major trophy and through all these six years, current manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has been in charge at Manchester United making significant additions to the current Manchester United squad. The addition which has continuously improved the performance level displayed by the Manchester United squad season after season. With each passing season under Ole Gunner Solskjaer's three-year tenure as Manchester United manager.

Manchester United has so far modeled themselves as a team that plays good football and modeled themselves as a team aiming to be serious contenders for the Premier League trophy and serious contenders for the UEFA Champions League trophy this season.

Can Manchester United achieve such feet with the current squad Ole Gunner Solskjaer has assembled this season? The answer to this question will undoubtedly arrive at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Nevertheless, today's article will point out the few strengths and weaknesses in the current Manchester United squad and try to assess just how far manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer can take Manchester United this season.

During the course of both transfer windows that took place in the year 2020, Manchester United have shown signs of moving in the right direction in terms of building and improving their current team into a team that will hopefully lift the Premier League and lifts the UEFA Champions League crown soon.

From retaining the long-term services of players who play a key role as the main engines driving the Red Devils closer and closer to the summit with each passing season, Manchester United have certainly shown some respectable level of support for manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s quest to return Manchester United back to the top of the ladder of success by making a few positive additions during both transfer windows in 2020.

But despite the recent additions made by the Red Devils, Manchester United still appears to lack the necessary balance in terms of quality needed in the squad to reach the pinnacle of success this season and in future seasons to come.

Can any manager lead this current Manchester United team to success this season, more importantly, will manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer be able to lead this current Manchester United team to success?

That is somewhat a yes and no answer, to be frank with sports fans. The answer is a yes because looking at the current Manchester United squad, the conclusion of Manchester United currently holding talents such as Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Donny Van der Beak, and Mason Greenwood as the front line and midfield anchors not to mention having the presence of dependable players such as David De Gea, Harry McGuire, Eric Bailey,

Luke Shaw and the recently acquired Alex Telles e.t.c.as the backline for Manchester United, the expectation for Manchester United to move forward and gain guaranteed success can easily be made and this is why the answer to the question of will Manchester United be successful this season can be a yes.

However, the answer to the question can also certainly be a no because of the few missing pieces in the current Manchester United team.

The Red Devils are in a decent position during the early part of the current season. Despite the club’s tough start to their Premier League season sitting at the bottom half of the table with just four games played in the early part of the season, manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men have once again pulled out yet another excellent performance from the hat after securing a big victory in last week's match against Paris St German in Manchester United’s first match in this season’s UEFA Champions League competition.

An important victory which has Undoubtedly raised the question once again is current manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer possibly the right man for the job or has Ole Gunner Solskjaer simply had some lucky streaks that have helped the Norwegian manager retain his position as Manchester United manager?

In terms of the persistent debate still ongoing around Manchester United on the topic of current Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer being the right man to remain in charge of the managerial job, the debate has always shown signs of having one consistent answer which is that the right manager for the job at Manchester United football club will more than like emerge as a successful manager in the club if a complete set of tools required for the job were provided for the job.

For the past four seasons at the very least, Manchester United has made a name for themselves as the football club which fails to provide a complete set of players needed to succeed in any elite competition. Coming into the current season, the information received here at Manchester United Channel Blogger.com was that the plan originally set aside by the club coming towards the conclusion of the 2019 calendar year was to provide the current Manchester United manager with a quality winger, a left-back, an extra central midfielder, an extra center back and a striker if the European market had maintained a status quo.

The plan, unfortunately, broke down due to the unforeseen emergence of the Covid 19 pandemic and the effects the virus has had on the global economy.

Despite the recent thoughts of displeasure voiced out by Manchester United fans on the recent inadequate investment done to improve the Manchester United team this past summer, the few decent signings made by the club during the 2020 summer season was the more realistic outcome poised to take place as opposed to the expensive-elite signings demanded by Manchester United this past summer.

Will the recent inability to sign an established creative right-winger and the inability to sign a backup creative left winger hurt Manchester United's chances of lifting a major trophy once again this season? Depends on the injury or fatigue levels Manchester United records this season and depends on creative manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer can be with his team in the midst of the current season.
