THE UNTAPPED FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH CONSTANTLY PRESENT AT MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB
What Manchester United has planned out for the youth system at Carrington. Here is an interesting topic or an interesting question that has not really received the attention necessary in terms of just how much of a role this topic will play in Manchester United’s success soon.
A lot has been said about where Manchester United is headed and questions have been raised on just how prepared are Manchester United to succeed now and how prepared are Manchester United in terms of succeeding in the distant future. The Red Devils have made the headlines over the past month as a result of the action taken by the club in the last few days of the 2020 summer transfer window after Manchester United refuse to spend massive money to bring in first-choice signings but rather choose to take a detour by signing players who appear to have failed in sparking tremendous confidence amongst the Manchester United fan base as of yet.
According to recent reports, the recent signings of Edinson Cavani, Ahmed Diallo, Faucando Pallistri, and Alex Telles have resulted in the response of Manchester United seen as having decent players in the squad but the recent signing has not sparked any type of hope for a title run from Manchester United expected by Manchester United fans.
While the Manchester United first team and the work done to the Manchester United first team in preparation for the season has understandably grabbed a lot of headlines over the past few months, one topic that seemed to be ignored yet again appears to be the improvements taking place in Manchester United’s youth academy. Over the past year, the main complaints around Manchester United have primarily centered on the subject of lack of signings made by the Red Devils.
While looking on the top layer of what has visibly taken place around Old Trafford in the past few months, especially in the 2020 January transfer window and during the 2020 summer transfer window, the major talking points around Manchester United will mostly center around what has been a decent transfer window at best after the club failed up a single right-sided winger of real quality as well as failing to pick up a right-sided center back during the 2020 transfer window. While today’s article is in not denying the idea that one or two more signings needed to be secured this past summer to put Manchester United in a better position to challenge for trophies this season, today’s article will however attempt to highlight some of the underground news which failed to hit the mainstream news during the current 2020 calendar year so far.
Do not let today’s article provide any type of misconception on the information being delivered because today's article is by no means saying that the demand for further improvements to be invested towards the first team is in no way irrational, absolutely not. The demand to sign one quality right-winger is completely justified because, even though Mason Greenwood has done a terrific job operating as a right-winger, the England international has also done enough to show that he is more than capable to lead the team in a center forward role if not against bigger opponents then Mason Greenwood has shown that he has the quality and he has the character to lead Manchester United frontline against opponents in the lower half of the English Premier League table at the very least.
This is the general idea circulated around today's article. The point being made is not that the Board of directors has done enough to be exempted from criticism but rather the point being made is that the club has laid down a very good foundation for success during this present time and a foundation that can lead to future success. However, the point trying to be emphasized here is that as explicitly as possible is that Manchester United hardly shows serious interest in promoting and giving young players from the Manchester United academy a serious opportunity to be integrated into a role as part of the Manchester United first-team which is why a lot of the underground youth signing made regularly by Manchester United tends to be overlooked by Manchester United on regular bases.
Marc Jurado, Issak Hansen Aareon, and Alvaro Hernandes are just some of the new names added recently to the impressive flock of young talents which Manchester United has managed to assemble in the club's current group of Academy players. Before the recent additions to the Manchester United academy, the Red Devils have managed to maintain a rather impressive high level of talented young players who always seem to be assured of having a promising future as a senior player at Manchester United. But for the most part, the promise of having a career as one of the senior players at Manchester United remains exactly what the word appears to be and that is a promise that hardly turns to reality.
Looking at the current Manchester United senior team, there is no doubt that a few more improvements needed to be made during the recently concluded 2020 summer transfer window to elevate the current Manchester United squad to trophy contenders especially with young talents such as Leon Bailey of Bayern Leverkusen and Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund who were both technically available for taking if the right price were met. Unfo0rtunately, Manchester United ultimately failed to capitalize on the opportunity to sign either player which might have left manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer a few steps short on the level of quality expected from the right-wing position.
Despite the lack of wingers signed this past summer, Manchester United still have the option of taping into the Manchester United reserve team to promote more players from the Manchester United academy should the need arise especially because recent academy product Tahith Chong and James Garner have proven that players in the academy can play and add some level of quality to the senior team when given the opportunity. Fortunately, the idea of granting promotion from the academy and integrate into the senior team is a philosophy that manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has not lost sight of and a philosophy that will continue to play an important role in Manchester United road to success.
Therefore, despite the recent logical case of the inadequate business conducted in the recent transfer window which has been placed on the doorsteps at Old Trafford, Manchester United has been busy in the recent transfer window.
However, the only difference is that Manchester United has chosen to place more emphasis on strengthening the club youth team and less emphasis on consistently strengthening the senior team at Manchester United.
