MANCHESTER UNITED SURPPORTERS AND THE BRITISH SPORTS MEDIA COLLIDE

Football fans continue to rightfully be regarded as the life source that determines the survival of this beloved game of football.

Anyone who takes a look back at the history of this beautifull game of football will rightfully acknowledge that while footballers are the ones who display the flair,  Footballers are the ones who deliver the mastery and footballers are the ones who deliver the victories  While footballers are also acknowledged as the people who are put through the emotionally draining situation that comes with losing a football match, the encouragement, and support invested by football fans allied with various, individual, football clubs is a factor which its relevance to the progression of modern football must not be overlooked.

From a financial standpoint, the growth of ticket revenue, the growth of merchandise revenues are two major financial streams that strengthen the economy of any football club and the fact of the matter is that these two main sources of income are revenue streams generated through the input of football fans making the involvement of football fans in the progression of any football club near impossible to ignore.

With that being said, it’s important to recognize that for any football club to be successful there has to be some level of leadership or ownership structure operating within the fan base. But what happens when the leadership structure operating within a football club shifts from fueling the football club to succeed on the pitch to simply increasing the profit margin generated by the club- what happens when club owners start using the profits generated by the club for their own selfish interest for years?

A huge reaction from the fan base is received, which is the main subject of tonight’s article.

As per the information received earlier this month here at Manchester United Channel A protest conducted by the Manchester United fan base in demand for immediate change on the ownership of Manchester United football club had been carried out at Old Trafford in July 2021.

A sizable portion of the Manchester United fan base residing in England, UK had gathered outside of Old Trafford before a match between Manchester United and Liverpool, and after a few moments of deliberation, the fans made their way into Old Trafford, marching across the field while chanting their demand in full voices “Glazers Out”! The information later revealed by various outlets across the UK says that there were

Thankfully no lives were lost during the protest as an expected altercation between the protesters from the Manchester United fan base and the security guards at Old Trafford as the guards tried to keep more protesters out of the Old Trafford. As per reports received here at the Manchester United channel, there were no lives lost during the incident. However, there were reports of a few injured casualties recorded within the conflict as two police officers were reportedly hurt and rushed to the hospital to receive treatment.

Whilst the altercation between some of the Manchester United fan base and the security officials had thankfully not resulted in any loss of lives- although one or two security officials were seriously hurt during the incident and had to send to hospital- the message delivered by Manchester United fans seems to be loud and clear, the fans demand positive changes that can lead the club back to success and the Manchester United fan base want these changes NOW!

As we emerge into the post protest days, the official word received from the premier league is that the match between Manchester United and Liverpool will be postponed until further notice with the now poised to be rescheduled for a later date in the future.

According to what Manchester United Channel has learned of the situation, the reason behind the protest that took place at Old Trafford last month-a protest that was intended to be carried out peacefully- is that Manchester United fans have felt abandoned by the current owners of the football club whom evidence shows have abandoned their commitment to invest into the Manchester United team to establish improvements within the Manchester United team each season.

Instead, the Manchester United fan base has seen that the ownership structure operating at Manchester United football has disregarded the commitment to invest time and finance into taking Manchester United to the top of the pyramid in the English Premier League and the Champions League. Instead, what has been revealed to be operational at Manchester United is that the club owners continue to receive personal annual profits from the club in the form of annual dividends with little to no form of a major form of annual reinvestment into improving Manchester United team taking place at Manchester United.

This information has ultimately revealed itself as the main catalyst behind the protest which took place at Old Trafford last month. But the fascinating situation that has transpired after the protest conducted by the Manchester United fan base is the quick judgment received from a large portion of the British fan base.

There seems to be a message lost in translation between what the true message delivered by the Manchester United fans last month and what some sports media outlets have made the protest look like. According to certain news outlets, the march which was carried out at Old Trafford by Manchester United supporters during the late stages of April 2021 was nothing more than a thuggish, ruffian mentality that has no place in football.

However, here on the Manchester United Channel websit6e, the writer or the writers have seen the acts of protest recently carried out by some Manchester United supporters in a different perspective

While it’s clear that vandalism and hooliganism have no place in football, the truth remains that the raid of Old Trafford carried out at Old Trafford was simply a major attempt to make their voices and make their presence acknowledge by the Manchester United owners who for years have carried on pretending that demands from the Manchester United fans are quite irrelevant to the Glazers when it comes time to make decisions concerning Manchester United and the fan base appear to have enough.

There is still the conversation to be had concerning some of the negative outcomes that ultimately accompanied a decision such as fans protesting. Outcomes such as physical fights between the Manchester United fan base and the security officers at Old Trafford which has left one officer critically hurt and a bunch of other Manchester United fans beaten and arrested.

While the Manchester United fan base did not execute the best plan in regards to delivering a message to the Glazer family, the message was still delivered loud and clear. Manchester United fans want to achieve progress within the club. Manchester United fans want the Glazers out and the Manchester United supporters are ready to use any reasonable route to achieve their goal.
