Worrying Times at Old Trafford

Image
Today is Saturday 23 January 2016 and for the fans who missed the early game between Manchester United against Southampton, I am sad to report that the final results of the game read Manchester United 0 – 1 Southampton. The game which, I want to strongly emphasize, was played at Old Trafford started off with Southampton dominating vast majority of the game and the Red Devils played like a team who did not put in anytime at all in the training ground before the game. I mean, I am honestly trying not to be too critical of the team but, it seemed like the strategy the team had coming into the game was to deliver long balls into the opponents penalty box and hope that a player like Marouane Fellaine would be able to do something with the ball but the strategy backfired because all the long passes that came from a Manchester United player either went out of play or the ball was delivered straight into the hands of the Southampton Goal keeper, Fraser Foster or the ball would find it...

Under Appreciation Leads to Loss of Quality

Image
Another example of unappreciated players from the club is Nani who was sold from Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon.  Two or three seasons ago, Luis Carlos Almeida da Cunha,(Nani), with a record of 25 goal in 147 appearances for Manchester United, was a winger who struck terror in the eyes of the opposing fans of any club Manchester United faced because of his ability to create goals for himself and his fellow teammates.  So, with a record like that, I have to ask, why sell him? What was the rational behind selling him and loaning adnan Januzaj? Two fast wingers whose ability on the ball showed a positive future for Manchester United.  If we sold Di maria, sold Nani and loaned Januzaj all within the space of a month and the club delivers the news a few months later that the club is lacking players and pace in key areas of the pitch then little doubt might start to crawl into the minds of the fans as to how ready and able will the team be to contest for the Pr...

Transition Time - Thanks for the memories Darren Fletcher

Image
This season has been a season of major changes made in Manchester United with important players coming in to the club and also some key players who left the club recently but where a part of the reason why Manchester united was so successful in the past.                                                               Darren Fletcher is one player that should definitely on that list.  With a total of 342 appearances for Manchester united and a total of 24 goals, it is safe to say that Fletcher was a dynamo in the midfield . He had the vision to see were the passes were going, how to tackle an opponent and dispossess the ball from the opponent as quickly as possible and adding his excellent long range shooting ability, it’s clear to see why Fletcher helped United secure a total of             ...

Major Changes @ Old Trafford

Image
August 6 2015             With the season over and the club overcoming all the obstacles such as injuries to key players, lack of creative players in the midfield and little threats on the attacking front, it is safe to say that the team is ready to put the disappointment of last season behind them and look forward to better things.     I know I previously spoke of the impact a player like Di Maria should have had on the team but with his quick departure to Paris Saint German(PSG) it seems the expectations that Di Maria will blossom as a footballer at Manchester United will not be fulfilled. The transfer was probably the best idea for both the club and the player because Manchester United was not the club Di Maria had originally wanted to move to and after his home at Yorkshire was broken into, it became apparent that his desire to leave to leave Old Trafford had intensified because his lack of happiness began to sh...

New Faces on Old Trafford

Image
July 30 2014       The actions that Manchester United took in the last two weeks of the transfer window in the month of August has really caught my attention and I must say as a Manchester United fan I am really overjoyed by the number of quality players the manager has brought into the team. We signed Rademel Falcao; one of the most prolific goal scorers in all of Europe. I mean just look at his track record;                               Then we have Angel Di Maria who can not only score goals but he can also create great goal scoring opportunities for his fellow team out nowhere with his great vision, incredible speed, quality ball control and his amazing ability to maneuver the ball to move to, pretty much, anywhere he wants. I think he is a great asset for Manchester United to have on our roaster because he will not only dazzle the fans with his skills but he will be...

Mix, Match, Win

There are three main issue that I think Manchester united need to address if we are to successfully regain premiership title and if we are to successfully qualify for the Uefa Champions League this season and in the future.  First the managers need to learn how to blend old ideas and new ideas together and by blending ideas together I mean taking the ideas the previous, successful, manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, used when he was a successful manager at the club and the ideas that Luis Van Gaal is planning to use as the new manager and use both ideas together. Ever since I was fourteen years old, I have been a hardcore Manchester United fan. I remember watch players like David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Paul schools, Gary Nevel, le, Dwight York and Eric Cantona play with such Grace, Finesse and magic skills for Manchester United. When you watched the old united team play together you would say that they were robot because they certainly played like robots.  But that is mostly...

New Faces Should Mean Equal Play Time

Image
With the new signings made by the new manager; Loui Van Gaal, the problem facing Manchester United Right now is not if Manchester United are good enough to win the premiership this season or is Manchester United capable of qualifying for the champions league next season, rather, the most important questions which should be addressed is how are we going to fit all the players into the team and keep all of them happy?                                                                           The answer is simple, rotation and equal opportunity. If we look at all 30 players in Manchester United, there is no denying that most of players in the team are capable of creating goals for themselves and for their team members there's no doubt about that but all the players ...
